One Day Trip To Bugis And Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

IT WAS JUST ONE MONTH AGO WHEN I MADE A TRIP TO SINGAPORE... that time was with my two siblings... This time round, we went to the same places, only the company is different... LOL... I wonder if the third trip will be to the same places again, what a tour guide I have!  LOL...

Started off our journey after our hearty breakfast in Tea Garden, Johor and reached Singapore border around noon.  My girl's first priority is shopping at the cheapest outlets, that is at the Bugis Junction.  No Orchard Roads shopping malls, those are too steep for me.  LOL...Everything will be multiplied by 3 times, no joke.  My budget is $10 per item, no more than that... Frugal is the word besides "stingy!"  LOL...

After all being said and done, we spent a couple of hours in and out of the Bugis Maze, I have to call it quits.  I felt faint already, most of the items sold are repetition of one stall to another and that ended our shopping in Bugis and the next destination was to Marina Bays, a place my girl has not been to before... We even went into the casino for the free hot and cold drinks and walked around... no giving tax to any.  By 4pm or so, we made our way out and back to Malaysia in an hour... No jam this time, very smooth journey all the way back.

My Failed Project In Baking Mini Egg Cakes

FAILED THIS TIME..... I don't know why, I follow exactly the ingredients and the method written in her website but it was not successful.  Something went wrong somewhere but I don't think I want to try it again.  This recipe is called Mini Egg Cake which is supposed to be soft, airy, light sponge cake but the way I made them, they turned out hard and crusty cake.   If I try again one day, I will half the portion... cos I like to eat these traditional egg cakes.... The Ingredients...  No point putting the recipe here since I failed..  LOL...  The portions of this recipe....  It looked very promising when I put them into the oven.... Even when they were in the baking process... they look good, aren't they? LOL...  I was so happy just by looking at the mini egg cakes in the tray....  And after they were let out... my heart sank....  The minute I took them out from the tray, I knew... Hard at the top...  Tak Jadi = Failed.... Now come to t

Our Orders From Afghanistan, Spanish And Australia

My Final post on the Food Festival in the Victoria Market on Wednesday night.... The atmosphere at the market was "enhanced" by the cheerful songs and music by a group band... It was indeed a merry evening filled with music-licous folk songs in the air... . Ok, how to find four seats in this crowd.... hmmmm....... Somehow we managed to... and these were what my boys brought back to our table.... Mexican rice with oysters... or is it Spanish rice?   Both are the same, I guess... LOL.... Afghanistan Food.... chunks of chicken meat with naan.... Brazilian food.... don't ask me what it is.... I just ate what was on the table....  But I am amazed by this giant burger....  ..... and what burger is this? They told me it is Crocodile Tail Burger! Meat from the crocodile tail?  Is it just a name or what... I really don't know... Took a few bites of it... and I am full!! Well, these were the food we

Home Cooked Dishes

NOT MUCH HAPPENING... and lazy too.... My neighbour gave me half pumpkin and I have been keeping it for a couple of days before I finally decide what to do with it.  I cook it into small chunks and sauteed it with minced meat, okra and basil leaves.  Yes, it would be great to put in some small cilipadi but unfortunately, I did not find any in my fridge.  Steamed a bowl of rice and that was meal for dinner.... One dish meal....  Pumpkin reminds me of sweet potatoes...sweet after cooking... Another dinner meal consist of Sambal Fish, black pepper met and a hard boiled egg  I only boiled the egg, the other two dishes were "sponsored" by my neighbour... LOL...
