Dinner For 10 At Weng Kee Restaurant, Ipoh Garden South, Ipoh

FOOD MARATHON CONTINUES DURING THE FIRST WEEK CHINESE NEW YEAR...

I was very undecided of which restaurant to go to on one evening and I ended up making  a booking with three restaurants two days in advance and on the day itself, I had to cancel two of them.  Three of the restaurants I booked are Kok Thai, Pavilion and Weng Kee, all around the same vicinity of Ipoh Garden East and South.  Finally I settled for Weng Kee restaurant, it has been a long while since I have been there and when I messaged my girl about the choice of venue, she replied with a "Hurray" ... With that word, I know that I have made the right decision.  Sons?  Oh, they are not picky eaters as me and my girl.  Anything is fine with them... LOL....

There were 10 of us for that evening dinner and we ordered 7 dishes....
The happy and "close eye"  smiles from the 10 of us....

Their signature Pork Ribs minus the bones...
Kapitan chicken
Mixed vegetables...
Their signature dish again.. Ownmade Beancurd..
Yummy steamed yam with lard...
Recently read an article that lard is good for us....
True or not?
Claypot eggplant with fish paste...
And the highlight of the dinner is the Buttered Fish... crispy fried...
That's her favourite and she ate most of it!
The  dinner came to RM215 inclusive of rice and drinks....
After our dinner, we adjourned for our desserts!!
A real fattening evening, no doubt about that..

  5. Not sure how good lard is but when compared with trans fat, eating lard is better than eating trans fat. Buttered fish is my pick too out of all the dishes because I prefer fish to chicken and pork.

  13. Love the look of the kapitan chicken and eggplant dish. Some dishes just need to have some lard for the special taste! What a happy gathering!
