Kitchen Stories For Four

KITCHEN STORIES FOR US FOUR...

We made our way to Taman Johor Jaya, it was nearly an half hour drive to this part of the area.  The last time I came to Kitchen Stories shop was in April last year.  This shop is famous for their Teochew dishes, the name has changed not too long ago for the old couple has retired and now the business is taken over by the younger generation.  It is a good thing to preserve the authenticity of the food, coming from the Teochew clan.  Not many youngsters are into this type of hand-me-down food nowadays, they are more into the new concept, cafes and fusion.

For oldies like me, I still prefer to go to "olden" kind of food and dishes and these were what we ordered when we went there during a weekday.  It was almost 2pm and by the time we finished our lunch, the shop was going to close for the day. :)
So they have recommendations for the day...

The menu on the wall if one is not sure what to order....
The crowd was still there even though it was already 2pm...
Specially requested for this Drunken chicken... Lor Mai Jau...
VERY BEST!!
*if there is such an expression!*
Bitter gourd with eggs...
Claypot porridge with fresh fish....
Something like this.....
Spinach to balance up...
This is special... Shrimp Roll.. very crunchy and nice!
Homestyle Pork Trotters to boost up collagen... and cholesterol?
LOL....
Lunch for the four of us with the above dishes came to around RM103...
Not too bad.. I would love to go again for the Drunken Chicken anytime!

  5. I love the big picture menu on the wall. There is no doubt about what you order. I wish all places did this. The claypot porridge and fish is what I would love to taste!
