MCO STEAMED DUMPLINGS

DUMPLINGS MODE... Feeling so free and restless last Saturday morning, I told myself.. "This is the Time... "   Yes, time to put my kneading skill to use... LOL.... Not skill of course, practice is more like it.  I was taught how to do the dumplings many months ago, I think I have forgotten the method of doing it... anyway, never give up, right?   Using the recipe sent by my friend, Nancy, I managed to get these odd shapes dumplings steamed and eaten with two days!
The ball of dough after 5 minutes of kneading
and leaving it to rest for 50 minutes...
Part of the dumplings being steamed in a wok...
And the rest in the electric steamer I bought in Shopee....
Ta...daaaa.... My Odd Dumplings!  LOL...
Squarish, round, oblong, SML sizes!
Some I made them plain.. no fillings....
And half of them with kaya (coconut jam) fillings.....
Odd shapes or not, I think I want to make another batch in the coming days....
I will certainly TRY to make them one size the next time!

  2. Yay! They look good! Those without fillings are mantou. Can be eaten with dishes with lots of gravy and replace the rice. I like those with fillings.

  5. Measure the whole dough and then divide into the equal portions to get same size paus. Well done! I like kaya too but don't have kaya in the fridge. Want to make kaya but have to queue to buy coconut milk.
