A Nature Walk To Gardens By The Bay, Singapore

A LONG WALK....

From the Marina Sands Hotel, we walked to the opposite side to the Gardens By The Bay.  I did not realize it was actually quite near, thought we need to drive... but no, just have to go through some escalators and in no time, we reached the gardens!
To enlighten ourselves, we took pictures as we walked along the basement leading to the gardens...
A 10 minutes walk and we reached this fascinating sight!
Good for evening walks.... so green with nature...
Day and night, the Gardens By The Bay is a lovely sight for all...
Scenery from the bridge....
And this is the bridge....
From the bridge, we have a good view of the Marina Sands Bay Hotel...

Health, Hair and Happiness: Helpful Hacks For Manic Mothers

Since becoming a mother your life has changed in ways you never imagined. Instead of boozy brunches it is now hourly bottle feeds; chic cocktail dresses have been replaced with stained tracksuits and loose t-shirts. Being a busy mother means that your focus has now shifted onto caring for your little ones instead of yourself, but in order to be the best mom you can be, you need to start looking out for your own health and wellbeing. So many new moms lose their sense of self-worth and forget to live their own lives. Many are often too busy to notice that they are neglecting themselves and can fall into a trap of anxiety or even depression. All you need to do learn some basic time-saving tricks which will not only help you get through a busy day, but will also give you an extra boost to start caring for yourself. Your baby needs to grow up with a fun loving, confident mommy who can teach them how to live a fulfilled and happy life. Start showing yourself some extra love and you will notice the positive effects it can have on your entire life.

Hot Hair Help

You wake up each morning to the stirring sounds of your little one whimpering. With your eyes half open to catch a glance in the mirror as your head downstairs to prepare the baby bottle; your hair hasn’t been brushed in about a week. You have endless split ends and your roots resemble a color that even you don’t recognize. Having long or medium length hair can be a nightmare to maintain when you’re a busy mother. You have to pencil an entire evening in your diary to give it a thorough wash and blow dry; even the thought of starting the process is too tiring to even think about. Overlooking your hair disasters can have harmful long-term effects so you might want to book in for a trim as soon as you can.

On a daily basis you can achieve glossy, sleek hair without even having to try too hard. For those days that you’re rushed off your feet with household chores you can simply spritz a deliciously scented dry shampoo into your roots and feel fresher than ever. This trick will tide you over for a couple of days before you need to attempt the dreaded wash and blow dry. Washing your hair shouldn’t take more than five or ten minutes, so try to get your locks completely nourished at least twice a week. If you don’t have the time or energy to dry your hair you could try scrunching in some styling moose into the tips of your hair. Overnight your hair become naturally tousled and you will wake up with clean, wavy hair which will require little attention for another couple of days.

Basic Beauty

Before motherhood crept up on you, you used to scour the make-up counters and beauty aisles in the department stores looking for the latest lip color to wow your beau. Your mind was constantly consumed by thoughts of how to improve your skin and prevent wrinkles. You never thought the day would arrive when you didn’t wear flawless make-up every day and didn’t partake in your daily facial cleansing routine. Nowadays, your beauty regime has taken a back seat ever since you had a baby to take care of. Your looming zits and dry patches are no longer a priority and you sweep these impending problems to the back of your mind. The truth is, there are more important problems than your skincare habits, but you do need to continue looking after yourself.

You will grow to resent yourself if you don’t take some sort of interest in your appearance; often you start to feel better about yourself when you wear makeup or treat yourself to a face mask. Obviously, it is completely impractical to slap on a full face of contoured makeup every morning; there simply isn’t time for that. What you can do is indulge in a basic routine for just five minutes each day. Here’s how you can use just a few minutes to bring a bright dewy glow back to your complexion. Firstly, splash some warm water onto your face and squeeze a pea sized amount of your facial cleanser onto your fingertips. Massage the cleanser into your face for 30 seconds and rinse off will cool water to close up your pores and prevent dirt from getting in. Sweep some toner across your T-Zone and then gently rub in some brightening tinted moisturizer. Not only will this bring some color into your cheeks, but it will also mask your inevitable tiredness. Brush on a small powdered highlighter onto your cheeks and you are ready to conquer the day in five minutes flat! On a day where you find yourself with some extra time to spare, consider using an exfoliator or treatment mask to freshen up your complexion even further.

The Magic of Movement

You mourn over the photographs of your beautiful bikini body that you had before your baby arrived. You feel downhearted at the way your body looks after giving birth and you feel defeated at the thought of never feeling sexy again. The truth is that your body is absolutely magical. You carried a child and gave birth to a tiny human, which you should never forget. We are often forced to look at skinny celebrities who managed to lose all of their baby weight in the blink of an eye; this simply isn’t realistic. Stop beating yourself up and make small, manageable goals for yourself. It is important to let your body rest and recover after giving birth so don’t jump straight back into a full forced gym routine straight away. Consider some calm and soothing yoga sessions, which can be done in the comfort of your own home. This will strengthen up your core and allow your body to gradually get back into a routine of moving each day. Head out in the fresh air once a day and take a walk in the park. You will soon feel more confident in your post-baby body once you start moving again.

So free your mind of the negative thoughts that consume you and learn to love yourself again. From quick cleansing to calming yoga you can care for yourself and your baby without feeling guilty.

Getting Your Teen Behind The Wheel

Any parent wants their teen to make it successfully behind the wheel. But once they are behind the wheel, you want to make sure they’re doing their best to drive as safely as possible, too. Getting them behind the wheel of a car legally is one thing, but making sure they drive safely even when you’re not there is a whole different ball game. Here are some pointers that can help you to do both. Take a look at how you can help your teen and give yourself peace of mind at the same time:

Have A Serious Talk With Them About Driving
Before you allow your teen to drive, you need to make sure that they are prepared for this enormous responsibility. Sixteen is still a very young age to drive a car. Teenager’s brains are still developing and learning. This doesn’t mean they are incapable of driving correctly, just that some teens are going to be more ready than others. It can be tough to see through your own child as a parent, but do your best to assess whether they are truly ready or not. They may be begging you to let them drive, but if you know they aren't mature enough to understand the implications of dangerous driving, you shouldn’t give into them.

When you talk to your teen about driving, make sure they know what it’ll mean. They’ll be in control of heavy, deadly piece of machinery. Being out on the road will be scary. They’ll be tempted to show off. Their friends will distract them. Make sure they know all of the dangers and risks associated with driving and that they will take them seriously.

Once you feel confident that your teen will take everything seriously enough, you can move on to the next step.

Take Them Out In Your Car
Taking your teen out in your car for the first time can be scary, so make sure you go somewhere quiet and don’t chuck them in at the deep end. They should enjoy this time in the car, but make sure they're careful and conscious as they maneuver. If they seem to be getting a little bit too cocky, it could be a sign that they still aren't ready to have a car or a license of their own.

If they are careful, listen to you while behind the wheel, and do their best to be safe and responsible, this is a great sign that your teen is ready to learn properly and own their own vehicle.

Be A Good Teacher
If you want to help your teen get behind the wheel, you need to be a good teacher. Staying calm while you're out in the car with them is imperative. If you shout and scream at them every time they make a mistake, you’re going to dampen their spirit and they might not want to learn anymore. They’ll learn faster if you see things as a learning curve and try to put a positive spin on things. This doesn’t mean you can’t have a serious talk to them if they are blatantly taking risks and being silly. However, if they are trying their best, practice staying as stress-free as possible.

Find The Right Type Of Courses For Them
You won’t be able to teach your teen to be a brilliant driver on your own. They’re going to need further training with certified professionals to help them really master this skill. You can look into traffic safety courses, crash courses, and even online courses and resources that can help them to expand their skills. Make sure you look together and let them have some input too. It’ll make learning all the more enjoyable and rewarding for them.

Find A Great Instructor
A great instructor for private tuition is always a good idea. They may be able to teach your teen things you wouldn’t be able to, and you can make sure you liaise with them to get an outside opinion on how your child is doing.

Always Set A Great Example With Your Own Driving
If you’re not setting a great example with your own driving, your child is going to copy you. It doesn’t matter what you say or what you do. If you’re driving like a lunatic, getting road rage at every opportunity, and using your phone while you drive, your teen will copy you. Start setting an example for them as early on as possible, and not just once they begin to learn.

Put Reasonable Expectations In Place
Make sure you chat to your teen about your expectations once they have their own permit. For example, no night time driving, no driving with more than two friends in the car, and anything else you feel will keep them safe while they get used to the road.

Download Apps To Keep Tabs On Your Teen
It’s not that you don’t trust your teen, you just want peace of mind. These apps can help to give you peace of mind. There are apps that lock your teen’s cell phone when they are driving faster than 10mph, and calls will go straight to voicemail (Sprint Drive First - $2 a month).

Teenager Speedster is an app that will alert you when your child is speeding in their vehicle, whether as a passenger or a driver.

Take a look at the app store and reviews and you’ll find plenty of similar options. You can find apps that block texts and send automatic replies when a car is moving, and even apps that can give you a Google Map link and speed of the vehicle. Some apps will also read text messages aloud without your teen having to look at their phone.

Many of these apps can be downloaded with both iPhone and Android, can be personalized to suit you, and cost a very reasonable amount.

Hopefully, this information helps you to feel better about getting your teen behind the wheel. Leave your thoughts below!

Shoppes At The Marina Bay Sands, Singapore

SINGAPORE.. A FINE LION CITY...

Our first destination is the Marina Bay Sands.... We parked our car nearby and walked towards the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, passing the Bayfront and as usual, along the way, we have to put ourselves into the camera.  LOL....
And these were some of them while walking towards the Marina Bay....
Walking towards.....

Even at the entrance, we have to do these too!
As it was a weekend, we joined in the crowd....
Too bad this is not opened as yet....
What a dessertlicious sight!
Must make another trip here in the near future.....
We walked around and wanted to go into the casino...
Only to realize that we left our passports in the car...
Aiyoh!
Stopped by here and have a drink and admire the fountain of water
which came flowing down at specific times...
Beantro... for a smoothie....
The prince and I....
Yes, we did the Olympic Walk again...
And our next destination is to the Gardens By The Bay...

Staying Smart With Your Money In 2018

Money management can be a difficult task for even the most level headed of people, and with the increase of prices and also scams that can trick us into spending all of our hard earned cash away, it’s become increasingly difficult to keep an eye on our spending. As much as we’d hate to believe it, money does make the world turn around when it comes to keeping our homes running, taking care of our families, and becoming financially stable. Here are some tips on how you can stay smart with your money in 2018.
source

Check, double check, and then check again

One of the major reasons that people are losing their money in this day and age is because of companies that manage to trick us into spending our money with them. While the company might not necessarily be ‘scamming’ you, they can appear to offer more than what you’re paying for, and lead you on to thinking it’s a wise spend. Make sure that whenever you’re purchasing a new product or service (especially online) that you’re checking out the company, reviews, and also social media comments before spending any money with them. This will prevent you from regretting purchases and being left out of pocket.

Consider investment

A really smart move to take with your money is investment, and you should definitely consider some sort of investment in your lifetime. Whether it be in property for you to live out your days in, or whether you’re interested in investing in businesses, you need to make sure that you’re making the right decision. You should always make sure that the investment you’re making is going to be worth your time and money. Casey research reviews give tactical information on wise investments, so that you can ensure you’re not buying into something that you won’t later benefit from or even worse, lose out on your money.

Be smart with savings

If you’re not already, you should begin some sort of saving scheme for you to fall back if times become tough financially. A really easy way to save is by rounding up each spend to the nearest pound or dollar (or whatever your currency is) and putting it away. So, if you spend £5.49, the 51p that you’d use to round it up to £6 would go into a savings account. Many bank accounts offer this service, so check with yours to see if you can begin saving. Your money will mount up faster than you think!

Take on extra work if needed

Finally, no matter how hard you try to keep track of money, sometimes things simply go wrong. Items need repairing, you have medical bills, among many other reasons for expenditure. The truth is that there is no ‘get rich quick’ scheme that you can take on, so it might be time to take on some extra work until your head is back above water.

A Few Tips About Improving Marriage

Marriage isn't always easy. When you see a couple that's been together a decade, or even two or three, then you know you're in the presence of two folks that have fought with one another, compromised, and stayed true to each other through quite a bit of adversity. There's much you can learn from such dedicated couples.

However, big problems aren't always what cause the downfall of marriages, certainly not in every case. In many instances, folks wind up splitting over the smallest things, particularly when those small things pile up.

Given that, I have asked around for marriage tips and advice, any small ways in which a husband or wife can enhance their love and improve their current marriage. According to Clarityclinic.com none of this involves therapy or serious sucking up or even a big effort on anyone's part.  These are in fact the smaller things that can wind up making a huge difference. So, these are a handful of ways you go about improving your marriage as early as today!

Forget your pride. If you're wrong, then you should apologize. If you come to the realization that you're wrong in a fight, admit that, and express your apologies. It makes a huge difference that lets you two stay close.

During a fight, try and imagine the other person being gone. There's no better way to stop fighting than imagining missing or losing that other person. Is that sadness you feel? Is there tightness through your chest? Well, that's love that you feel for that person.

Laugh more often. For me personally, that's likely the biggest secret to a decade of successful marriage. In my relationship, my husband and I both make each other laugh, a lot. We even roll around on the floor laughing, given how much we genuinely enjoy one another's company. This is one that keeps our relationship strong.

Schedule a weekly meeting. If you both have careers and young kids, then nothing may prove more important than having a weekly meeting. It's certainly not romantic, but nagging isn't either, and these meetings can curb quite a bit of nagging. I have a friend who has been doing them a while and points out how practical they are in helping everyone be organized in everyday life as though they're part of a team, and they really are.

Also, schedule sex. Again, this is not romantic, but if your life gets busy, it's critical. Pencil it into your calendar, because the alternative is even less romantic, and that's a sexless marriage.

Make sure the little things are talked about. You should talk about the big things, but you also need to cover the little things. Talk with each other, and then talk even more. The more you two talk, the more you'll learn.

Keep your own life. Nobody likes a person without friends. Keep your hobbies. Make some friends or keep the ones you have. Have a life! Today! You'll appreciate your spouse and time with him or her even more than before!

Remember to say thank you. This is still true. No matter how small saying thanks might seem, remember to say it for even small things, even if they might be expected. Just thanking someone for getting the mail or making dinner creates an abundance of goodwill and helps the other person feel like they are appreciated.

Don't stop fighting, but do stop yelling. Some fights are honestly necessary, but yelling isn't. Also, stop any name calling or fighting dirty. Just trust me on this one.

Hold hands with each other. Even if you're mad with one another, just touch each other. Do it in bed or out. In many cases, this simple act of touching each other might just curb the angry feelings.

Day Trip To Singapore

BEAUTIFUL SUNDAY MORNING...

Started off the day with Johor Dim Sum at Tasixi Restaurant at Taman Perling.  In Cantonese it sounds like Tai Sei Hei.  It was almost 11 in the morning when we reached there.  Still aplenty of choices to choose from and we had a hearty time here before leaving for Singapore an hour later.  Just a day trip to the Lion City or should I say, just half a day.  The weather was beautiful, not hot nor it was raining.  In fact it was quite cooling and windy....
First round of Dim Sum at Tasixi...
And we kept adding till we were really full....
I like their fried radish... tasty!
Filling our tummies full cost around RM85 for the five of us....
Then we made our way out of Johor.....
To Singapore causeway!
