About Bee Gees Songs And Lyrics

This morning when I logged in to the online Star, the headlines of Robin Gibb's demise caught my eye.  Bee Gees is no more complete, first Maurice and now Robin, the twins from Bee Gees have passed on.. but their songs will continue to go on and on....

To pay a small tribute to the Bee Gees, I present below some of their songs ...
Can you guess their titles without googling them?

Here goes.....

1)   Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk,
I'm a woman's man, no time to talk.

2)  You and me girl, got a highway to the sky
We can turn away from the night and day...

3)  Smile an everlasting smile,
A smile can bring you near to me...

4)  Listen to the ground:
there is movement all around.
There is something goin' down
and I can feel it.

5)  I’m here at your side
Apart of all the things you are
And you never thought of some one else
Your gonna find you shining star

6)   I can still feel the breeze that rustles through the trees
And misty memories of days gone by
We could never see tomorrow, noone said a word about the sorrow.

7)  In the morning when the moon is at its rest
you can find me at the time I love the best
watching rainbows... played on sunlight, pools of water,
ice on cold nights in the morning...

8)  In my brain
I see your face again
I know my frame of mind
You ain’t got to be so blind
And I’m blind, so very blind

9)  Where is the sun
That shone on my head
The sun in my life
It is dead
It is dead

10)  Don't shed a tear for me, its not your style....
If you're not here by me, then its not worthwhile....
(I love this song.... )

RIP, Robin....

I Like Taang Shifu!

I was given a special treat last night, a scrumptious dinner at Taang Shi Fu Restaurant in AEON Ipoh Station 1... we didn't plan to take our dinner but when we passed by this logo, it attracted us and we went in....
Is there a franchise in KL or anywhere else besides Ipoh?
There was a queue waiting when we finished our dinner..
the ambience was not at all..
very "chinese-sey" if you know what I mean...
free appetizer...
sliced fresh guava with "kam pei"(orange skin)
the "black chicken" with wolfberries and slices of ginseng...
RM24.90
that comes with these condiments..
you can choose white rice or brown rice..
I opted for brown for health reasons.. hahaa...

Steamed aubergine with X.O. scallop sauce
Quite a large portion for both of us...RM13.90
I love this!
Fish Maw with Cod Fish in claypot...
A generous portion of fish maw....

this was my dessert...
Snow Jelly with Gingko - RM8.90
(to improve my memory, if it ever does!)

I wouldn't mind coming here again next time..
Will bring my kids to savour some of the dishes here too..
Their Mi-Sua noodles looks good too.. must try...

As for last night, many thanks to TC
for the exotic meal......

Learn English with Reliable Resources

When we attend a Language course, we are generally provided with the course material: one or two class books, a few photocopies and an audio exercise every now and then. Yet, there are endless resources within our reach we are not even aware of. All you have to do is be a little creative and start using your imagination for learning purposes. By the way, you don’t need to spend a lot of money on learning equipment; in fact, there is material available for all kinds of pockets. Let’s have a look at some ideas:

The Internet for Dictionaries (and a lot more)
The Internet could be the main tool for language purposes, as it is full of newspapers from all over the world and written in many languages, blogs, forums, social networks, etc. Our only recommendation for the use of the Internet is that you do so wisely, meaning, go to the official sources always. For instance, however comprehensive Wikipedia may be, anyone can write information there, which leads to inaccuracy sometimes. When seeking to learn English Melbourne students who don’t have dictionaries or don’t want to carry heavy weights, can still count on the Internet: The Oxford or Merriam Webster sites offer online dictionaries for free.

Films for new Vocabulary
So next time you go to rent a movie or documentary, check out the subtitles option. It might be convenient for you to just listen to the audio and try to do without them whatsoever. However, if you think you’re not quite there yet, try watching the movie with subtitles in the language you are learning. You will for sure get some new expressions, and depending on the time of the movie, you will acquire new vocabulary. For instance, if you rent a movie like American Pie, you are sure to pick up a lot of current American expressions. If you’re seeking to learn more along the lines of British English, why not go for something like Nothing Hill, Death at a Funeral or Bridgette Jones’ Diary? Or if you’re interested in learning some archaic vocabulary, you could rent any film placed in the medieval times like Robin Hood, Macbeth, Excalibur, Henry V, etc.

Music for Creative Writing
Through music, students learn the fastest. Not only because they like it, as we all do, but also because words with catchy melodies are bound to stay in your memory for years and years. Through music, we generally learn words that we would hardly remember otherwise (as they are not used very often). David Bowie’s songs, for the richness of the lyrics, are highly recommended for creative writing purposes.

My Red Babe's Transplant

For the first time my Red Babe had a "transpant" as shown in these pictures below...
the "docs" did a body check up on Red Babe
before confirming what was really wrong with her...
Then the mechanic pointed the fault to me.. why my car wobbled
and kept going to the left side of the road...
the left absorber is not functioning well... oil came out from there...
I cannot change only one side... so in then end, the right absorber too had to go....
I was there watching the whole process...
as my friend mentioned, this is called "transplant"...
I had to be there to make sure that they changed genuine parts for me...
this is the new "heart"
the mechanic allowed me to see the brand of the new absorber...
I saw it.. ok, genuine....
and after one and half hours, my Red Babe has been transformed...
and the total "medical bill" came to RM500!
well...  owning a car means having to take care of her...
Now I can speed on the highway again!

Sweet Temptations Indulgence

Come, let's go for a high tea in Gurney Plaza....
After walking more than an hour in Gurney Plaza, we felt it was time for us to have some desserts... we went to the lower ground floor and looked around and this sign attracted us.....
Lucky Dessert!
The food displayed at the counter made us "drool"....
we ordered this Passion Mango Delight....
and a piece of ........... Durian Crepe.......
The layers of fresh durian....
How to resist?
It was a small piece but nevertheless, it was more than enough for both of us...
For both desserts, the bill came to around RM18.00..
Once awhile,
indulging in these "tempations" is fine....
er.... right?

Mini Egg Tarts In Carnarvon Street, Penang

Now that we have discovered this authentic shop selling mini-sized oven-freshed egg tarts, we will not miss buying them whenever we visit Penang. This shop is along Carnarvon Street Penang and it is manned by an elderly couple plus a middle-aged man as seen in the pictures below.

When we reached their shop, there were no egg tarts yet, the man told us to come half an hour later... they don't accept "booking" cos the tarts are very fast sold out there and then....

After our Kimberley Street breakfast, we swiftly walked to the shop again, the timing was just nice..  we saw one tray of these mini egg tarts on the table, fresh from the oven!
Uncle Ah Pek told us to wait for a couple of minutes....
Guess what he is doing....
he was "fanning" the mini tarts using a manual fan...
Father and son, I think....
crispy hot egg tarts..
Taking the orders...
this man in helmet bought 50 pieces..
We ordered 20 only....
all finished within a day!
Besides their fresh egg tarts, they have these for sale too...
The sesame balls from this post were bought from here...
All fresh and good....
oh by the way, the egg tarts cost 40sen each!
Cheap, right?

Finally A Dell To Call Her Own

On behalf of yours truly, Andy booked (not bought) a Dell laptop online for her sister last week and it was delivered within eight working days... (initially I wrote "bought", wrong interpretation :)
it came together with a backpack...
just nice for her to take along to college...
One look at this and you know it belongs to a female...
the colour is very familiar..
yes, same colour with my car...
She is now a proud owner of her first laptop...
Hope she utilizes it more for her studies
instead of Facebook!
A gift from her brother, Andy....
A wireless mouse...
He didn't buy one... but TWO...
One for his sister and one of course for Yours Truly here...
Thank you, Andy!

I am owning a wireless mouse for the first time!
Well....I hope one day I will own my first Laptop too!
*hint, hint!*
hahahhaaa....
