CURFEW HOUR

MY SON...the teenager...suddenly sat facing me while I was having my dinner half-way and in a serious tone said"Mi, I want to discuss something with u..." (come on..I want to enjoy my dinner in peace, son)

Still paying attention to my food, I mumbled what about.... Then he mentioned something about his friend's birthday party this weekend in MP cafe, about using the car and then the big question came.."What is my curfew hour?"

Aha...that question brought me back to my teenage days and without hesitating, I said "10 o'clock, come back by 10pm.." I peeked at him and he looked at me disbelievingly.... (hehe... now I m giving him what I had during my younger days when I asked my father that... my curfew time was 10pm then....no joke...have to be home otherwise.... imagine the worst scenerio...strict upbringing ma)

Sure enough, my teenager wont accept 10pm as curfew hour....he said how can, how can.....the prime time has just started....he said 11pm.....(negotiations has started)..... then.....after much evaluation and assessment about who and who are going, who is driving, etc etc... we settled for 10.30pm....period.

OK, SON, be home by 10.30pm .... otherwise, otherwise.. (scratch head) ......................what ah? what???

  2. hi there, that remind me when i was a teenager. but for me we do party during weekend at friend's house . our party usually end at 1am in the morning . so ur curfew time you imposed is already out dated. we are now in to the 21st century so you hv to extend ur curfew time.

  5. I never had curfew back then. My parents were quite liberal and I turned out alright. Children need the freedom, especially at their teenage stage.

    "my papa/mama, very understanding"
but, the child must be tolerate and understanding that the parents still waiting at home as well...

  8. 10.30pm on a weeknight is considered very lenient oredi wor - by my standards, haha! For me, 10pm is the max, non-negotiable! Talk summo, no need to go! What? No need to go to school the next day, izit?? Ideally, NO party on weekdays/nights! *fierce or not??*

  13. hi! there i just read your comment. Hmm which post you are talking about in my blog? I've tried before making an opp from ss, and is filtered for US bloggers only, unfortunately my post or that opp has been rejected for that reason so basically there's no other way on opp that social sparks will approve specifically for US bloggers/

by anyway, your questions about google..and PPP.. the reason I said that is because most of the bloggers that are using PPP has been slapped with their PR.. bec they can tracked if the post is paid...

  26. once he tried to stretch it and gets away with it (which he did?) he will try stretching further. you will have to show him u mean business.

wat is important to him? pocket money? or no going out for that weekend? that was important to me then!! for me, not being able to go out cycling for one evening with my friends would devastate me!

take it from an ex-rebel :P
