Penang International Airport is still under renovation... the last time I went there was in July 2011. They were having a major renovation and when we reached there yesterday, the exterior was done but the interior was still under construction....
The exterior is almost finished....looks like KLIA from the outside....
Maybe in another few months, the PIA will be done up completely....
Hopefully we can fly anywhere from Penang next time...

Would you mind telling me what are the restaurants available in PIA? The last time I went there was 2008 and I saw Coffeebean and McDonald's only. Was wondering if there's any new addition after the renovation. Thanks.
Pam: I went up to the departure hall and saw McD only... not so sure about coffeebean.. :)
previously the airport was a real shame to be in.. thats why they decided to upgrade it. Hope it gets better after the upgrading works

Hey! I commented...and it has disappeared! Said I was there Nov 2010, it was a horrendous mess...and April, 2011, it was still the same - no change...like nothing had been done all those months...and till today, they have not finished???? That's bad! VERY bad!!! So many tourists...bet they would be put off by the condition of the airport - bad reviews..... The authorities concerned should pull up their socks...QUICKLY!
