Mothers' Day Weekend In Penang, Pearl Of The Orient

Took a short trip to the Pearl Of The Orient with my family yesterday.  Started off the journey around 10am and reached Penang around noon.  The bridge was not jammed but the road leading to Green Lane was kind of hectic.

Smooth traffic....
Reached the hotel around 2pm after taking our lunch in Ah Ling's fried koay teow in Datuk Kramat Road.  At the lobby, I met up with one of FB friends was waiting at the lobby... Nice of him to drop by to meet up for a short while... Thanks for coming by, AL...
After he left, we adjourned for Laksa... this is the BEST I have tasted so far in Penang...
Opposite Peng Hwa School at Gottlieb Road... "BESTEST"... LOL...
From our hotel room at 12th floor... nice scenery...
Overlooking a small portion of the sea...
Mountains at the left side....
Then we rested for awhile before going for our dinner at 6.30pm...
Lok-Lok to start off our dinner in the evening....
Then we adjourned to Kimberley Street for Koay Teow Th'ng
Not really a fan of this... but ate a bit to try....
Some desserts as usual....
Ended up in Paragon Gurney to digest.....
Morning buffet breakfast..... took a bit.. such as 2 half boiled eggs....
And a bowl of porridge....
And ended up eating again at New World Park.....
Dropped by at Straits Quay.... and ended up doing some shopping there...
Well, that is about all....
A brief summary of our one night stay in Penang...,
Happy Mother's Day!!

  12. Wah, still gallivanting ahh? Jealous leh.. Yesterday was just another ordinary day for me, stayed home only.. Boring hor? But we went out for a nice dinner on Saturday though.. But with two babies around, we couldn't enjoy very much, had to swallow the food and shout & nag like a crazy old hag the whole evening.. Even the waitresses pitied us and kept reminding me "Your baby's leg is out of the hi-chair".. Gawd..
OMG, I love everything you ate.. I love that laksa, but will usually omit the "har kou".. Smelly leh, teehee.. And yep, kuey teow thn'g, can't miss that in Penang, will usually order 2 bowls.. One with just the "liew" only, slurrrpp...
