Dinner At Bee Gaik Nyonya Restaurant, Ipoh

SHE LOVES THE JU HU CHAR...

But I do not know how to cook it right!  I tried doing it once and the taste is so far behind from what my mom used to do.  Regretted not learning the proper way to do it from my mom then... I suspect the art of stirring and sauteed is the reason for not getting it right... oh yes, perhaps the wok plays a part too.  I should be using the big stainless steel wok instead of those ceramic ones.   Anyway, I am not going to give up practising and I hope one day, I will get the 90% taste if not 100% of what my late mom used to do.  *Mom, we are missing your your cooking!!*
And so... no choice...
My girl suggested going to Bee Gaik for the Ju Hu Char fix....
Difficult to get this dish in Ipoh...
As far as I know, Bee Gaik has it...
Where else, may I know?
This dish can be done at home... so far, so good...
We ordered Assam Fish Curry too...
And this is new to us...
Salted Fish Acar...
A very appetizing dish with sweetened onions  and olives...
Dinner at Bee Gaik Nyonya Restaurant for the four of us...
The bill came to around RM90...
And thanks to my girl who picked up the tab...
Alright, CNY is coming soon...
I have to whisk up my kids' favourite dish for that special day...
I must really try practising this dish again and again...
It is a MUST dish for Chinese New Year!
