Morning Ritual

During our stay at my sister's ranch, each morning when we get up, my mom would get herself  a cup of coffee to start off the day.  The first thing she did was to find grindmaster for her coffee and there is nothing much nicer than to sip the aromatic coffee grinded from the machine.  I am not a coffee lover but I do love to smell the aroma of the coffee.  With a cup of coffee in hand and a toasted bread in another, this is truly a blissful morning.

Last Minute Shopping In Las Vegas Premium Factory Outlets

The very next morning we had to leave Las Vegas for San Diego .....but before we did, we went to the premium factory outlet center to do our last minute shopping.... The mall is just walking distance from our Tahiti Village Resort and wasting no time, after rubbing massive sunblock lotion on our face and arms, we took a ten minutes walk to the mall under the hot sun....
This captivated my eyes.... by claire's
Looking back at these pictures, it was actually a few hours walk in this mall..
and surprisingly not tired at all... (where shopping is concerned)
the feet were not tired but the stomach was growling...
and we came here to the food court to have our lunch..
it was quite crowded...
we tried this double beef burger....
too filling for my liking...
I went for Panda Express... chinese food... hahahaha...
then my sister bought this for me to try...
I forgot the name but I know it is a from a Mexican food outlet...
something like the "popiah" skin wrapping up rice, beef and all...
I took a bite just to try...
but I still prefer the Panda Express.. LOL...
One more picture of the accessory shop ... by claire's
Perhaps one day...
there might be a Reanaclaire outlet somewhere..
Never know...
LOL...

Rio Suite Hotel & Casino

The MJ live tribute was supposed to start at 8.30pm but we were already there around 7pm... to while away the time, we ended up playing some slot machines... these slot machines are so "different" from the ones we have in Genting Highlands! Being "fresh from the boat", we tried with the 1 cent machine to pass time...
and we ended up winning $21.90!!!
Isn't that fun?  LOL...
Then out of the $21, we continued playing and
lost a few dollars more before we called it quits!

Great Ideas for a Simple Dinner that Anyone can Make

Most people simply stop to get a hamburger or pizza when they don't have enough time to make a meal. But these are unhealthy eating options, and you can make healthy quick meals at home in about 20 minutes. The following are just a couple of simple dinner ideas that require very few ingredients and can be a perfect lunch or dinner option; an ideal option for couples, singles or families. It’s only a matter of planning your meals ahead of time, so you can have all the ingredients a recipe requires on hand.

Shrimp and Chorizo Spanish Rice
This is a hearty dinner or lunch and a great treat on a cold winter’s night. Add some international zest to your cooking with this recipe, offering a small taste of Spain.
Ingredients: - 1 lb of long-grain white rice - 2 tablespoons of olive oil - 2 garlic cloves - 1 red onion cut into thin slices - 1 to 2 chorizo pieces cut into ¼ inch pieces - 2 tsps of mild paprika - 1 dried red chile sliced or torn into small pieces (Gaujillo) - ¼ lb of cooked and peeled shrimp - 1 cup frozen peas - 2 to 4 limes
Cook the rice as instructed by the package and set aside. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add garlic and onion slices and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until the onion is translucent, then add the chorizo and the dried red chile. Cook until the chorizo is brown. Add the paprika and the shrimp and cook for another 3 minutes, then add the peas and the pre-made rice. Add salt and pepper seasoning to taste and serve with lime wedges.

Chicken Avocado Salad
This fresh salad is great on any smummer day or evening. This makes a great light dinner or lunch and only takes a few minutes to make.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup boiled shredded chicken - 2 cubed avocados - 1 tbs. of chopped cilantro - 1 lime - Dash of salt - Bib lettuce Instructions
Place 3 to 4 bib lettuce leaves on each plate. Combine the chicken, avocado, cilantro and salt. Add a squeeze of lime and dollop a spoon or two in the center of the bib lettuce on each plate. The above are just a couple of ideas for quick meals you can make. These taste great, only take a few minutes, can save you money (less expensive than a restaurant) and are healthy. To integrate these to your meal plans all you need to do is decide to try one new recipe a week. Once you have a few recipes you like, you can add them to your current monthly meal plan to get a variety of dishes you continually make at home.

Vegas And I

It is like a dream come true for me when I finally “landed” in the city of Las Vegas.  For many suns and moons I have been hoping to see the bright city lights as shown on television and movies and all those years, I have never thought that my dream would come true one day.  This is one vacation that I have enjoyed the most and most of the time during my holiday, I have been thinking about them and wishing that they were together with me as well.  We would have lots of ideas for activities they would enjoy especially in the resorts I was staying, something like old Vegas.d Vegas. As much as we love the high-end Vegas resorts, there is a definite benefit to the old resorts, too. There's an easy kind of low-key civility in the older posh hotels. The pace is slower. The people seem friendlier. The clientele is chiefly made up of Vegas veterans, experienced travelers and locals.

Experienced Vegas visitors know the best spots. This helps the established Vegas hotels retain a lot of their own flavor. At Tropicana Las Vegas, for instance, our rooms were big and comfortable with adjoining rooms.  Parents with kids will love these and I am sure my kids will enjoyed themselves tremendously too!  It was a short walk to the Tropicana pool, often voted the best Las Vegas swimming pool. The pool area takes up two acres filled with lush tropical landscaping.  While kids can enjoy themselves in the swimming pool, adults like me will feel comfortable leaving them at the  poolside while I could venture out elsewhere for a while. The pool area is well-supervised. The security is evident but not obvious. Upon our returned, we found him still in the cabana area. It turns out he had enjoyed a couple of hours investigating the tropical ambiance within the landscaping.

Other older hotels have their own individual personalities and charm. They each retain a unique piece of old Vegas. Some have distinctive landscaping, transporting the visitor to somewhere far away. Some have the old Vegas flavor to their architecture. Still others have activities that don't involve gaming, such as wonderfully lavish showrooms. Each hotel, old and new, is an attraction in and of itself. No two hotels are alike and all welcome visitors, though some attractions are reserved for hotel guests.

I had a wonderful vacation with my family members, all of us had an awesome time looking at the bright lights and spectacular sights along the strip. Even my young teenaged nephew enjoyed himself tremendously, he told us that he found so many other things for him to see and explore. On our last day, we attended a show that was a tribute to the Rat Pack era, one of the many Vegas heydays. Still, that's the thing about Las Vegas. No matter how many years may pass, it never gets old.
