Holiday Bonus?

Someone in the office mentioned the words "Bonus Holiday" to me... I was kind of a "blur... "CUTI BONOS?" (Bonus holiday or holiday bonus...whatever.... ) Is bonus in the air? Wasn't it only recently our PM had just announced half month bonus to government servants? And now another bonus again?

What is that, I kept on asking my colleague.... well, according to her, it seems to be rumoured that .... er... next week we....er..... Malaysians..... MIGHT have an extra day off !! Wait... wait a minute, I wrote a MAYBE, not a Surely, ok... and it might be just a rumour... no confirmation as yet....

The confirmed public holidays are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for next week, right? So if there is a so-called "Bonus Holiday"....what day would you think it will fall on?

According to Reanaclaire's premonition, the Bonus Holiday will be on Friday, not Monday IF it is true....

How about you? Do you think there is such Bonus next week? *salivating*

Boss, I Am HARDworking & Seeing Double!

For the first time in history, I dare to declare that today was my most Hardworking day of the year! hahahaha.... shhhhh..... Hope my boss is not around to read this... oopps!!

Ok, putting jokes aside.. this is Serious!

Today I did not surf much in the office, in fact, I did not do surfing .... I started my official work at 7.50am and slogged real hard till 4.30pm! I created history! ahhhhhh....I even gave up my healthy breakfast (for instance this one below) to work... work... and work non-stop... (on second thoughts, perhaps it is good that my boss is reading this post!) hehehee....

the breakfast that I never had today...

2nd episode :-

When I met up with my colleague from another department for lunch, we had a good time laughing our heads off!

we were sort of identical!!

were we not? hehheeee...
Embarrassment aside, we still went out for our lunch...
hand in hand, side by side...
oblivious of others looking at us....

Moral of the story: Don't buy the same clothing with your colleague even though they are super cheap! hahahahaa.....

Food Comments And Roti Jala

Many of my friends/bloggers asked me this before... "Why do you always post up food pictures? Nothing else to post about ah?"

Another one of my friends told me that it is not good to post up so much food pictures, "think about those who do not have the chance to eat.... don't always post up food pictures to taunt them, it is not good..... " I kept quiet... I didn't reply..... what should I say?

I put up food pictures not to taunt or showing off what I have eaten.... not to flaunt others... what is there to boast about the food I have eaten?

Blogging is to share... anyone can read, they can see.... they can comment, they may not... the blog is just there.... if one feels that it is a "torture" to come by and read, then he/she will stop doing so voluntarily... eg... if I feel that food blog is always making me drool, I can decide whether I want to go or not..... no one is pointing a gun at me, forcing me to go there, right?

Furthermore I do not always post up "drooling"food... I just want to post what I have taken, whether it is nice or not, it doesn't matter....

One main reason I put up food pictures is for my sons who are away.... each time they call back, they would like to ask..... what did you take for dinner today? Where did you go.... etc etc.....

So... here they are... what we have eaten....

10 pieces of roti jala....RM4.00
bought from two different stalls...
the lighter colour taste much better...

dipped with RM2.50 chicken drumstick curry..

and a piece of barbecued chicken RM2.00

That was our dinner ... RM8.50
Not our choice of dinner...
but once awhile, no complaints...

Viva Was Abused!

My handphone rang at around 12pm today, it was from Andy, the first thing he asked was, "Where were you the whole morning? I called you 4 times!" Hearing the urgency of his voice, I knew something bad must have happened.....

True enough, he then told me that his car window pane was smashed.... not only his, but another four cars too along the same row. Five cars were being "robbed" ... all belonging to college students. Andy lost some coins, thank goodness, his laptop was not inside the car.

There is not enough parking inside the college, that was why they had to park a bit further down the road where the path is quite lonely. After this incident, their lecturer told them to double park in the college, just leave the handphone number at the car screen for contact...

That is worrying... as a mum... no car also cannot... got car also worry about this and that...

When can we as parents stop worrying for our kids?

Andy sent me the pictures of his Abused Babe...

the whole piece gone...

wonder they took his christian songs CDs or not...

thank God no one was injured..

with the V-cool, it helps to sustain the glass
from being broken into bits and pieces...

It must be a frightening experience for him...
Anyway, he took it to the mechanic this afternoon..
It is now fixed but he missed his class though...
Anyway, most important, he was not around when it happened..
Only a small hole burnt.. RM160 gone...

Sun Lee How Fook, IPOH

Another one of our "Chinese" gang is going to retire early next month. Our group is really getting smaller and smaller, either they get transferred out of town or going into retirement. I opt for latter, I do not want to be transferred out of town even if it is promotion. No way.... my roots are in Ipoh and here I hope I will stay till my last breath... hahhaaa...

So.... to give our colleague a good and blessed "sending-off", we took her out to lunch at Sun Lee How Fook in Kampar Road. I have not been there for a long time... and it took me nearly 25 minutes to get there... sigh... so jammed up during lunch time..
OK....Let's talk food first...

bean sprouts with the asparagus-like vegetable
with small deep-fried anchoives as toppings...

deep fried soft crabs...
(gosh, deep fried again! there goes my resolution...)

bitter gourd with salted egg...

Mini Lai Bak vegetables..
(remember, the one bitter dish that I cook recently?)

assam sweet sour stingray fish

followed by assorted chicken..
one is steamed and the other deep fried... (again!!)

deep-fried chicken sauce...

this sauce goes with the steamed chicken...

they call this chicken "woo soe kai"
Bearded Chick...

last and not least.. a picture to remember...
Elin... as usual camera-shy.. haizzzz...
Anyone can guess who is retiring in this picture?
That makes me wonder...
When will my turn come?

Hey ladies, for my retirement, I want Lobsters and African Crabs, OKAY??
(looks like no response.... )

It Was Just A Screw!

The first thing I went out this morning was to seek treatment for my red babe.... I went back to my regular service shop and I was praying that they would know how to do it, otherwise if I were to change the whole exhaust pipe, it will cost me a couple of hundred.

The shop I went to is along the Paragon Hotel...

the shop is just next to a coffeeshop..
we took our breakfast there... my girl and I...

I like this mechanic.. very friendly and soft spoken..

Took him around 10 minutes only...
It was just a "Rusty Screw"....
phewww... it is a relief...
For that, I just gave him a Red note as a small gesture...
And after our breakast, we drove away happily ever after... :)

Red Babe In Trouble!

When I started the car this afternoon, I heard a "clang clang sound" when I reversed my car... I looked around for some cars who were giving this clanging sound but there was none around me.

"Don't tell me the sound came from my own car??" I drove on.... no sound.. then when cornering, BIG CLANG.... clllooong..cloooong..clangg...clang.... could be heard very clearly!

My colleagues also heard... sigh....that really dampened my heart and my mood... we were actually going for a lunch farewell. Suddenly no more appetite!

Took me 30 minutes to reach our restaurant, quickly I got down to look what was wrong.... I thought it was my tyre rims loosened... Looked here and there.. nothing seems to be amissed...

Then I heard my colleague calling me to the behind of my car... the alien sound came from my exhaust pipe!

It was very much loosened already.... sigh... there goes a portion of my incentive... sigh... sigh..
