Jelapang Food Treasures

IT HAS BEEN QUITE A WHILE SINCE I ATE WITH MY FOODIE FRIENDS... To be more precise, it has been more than ten days or so.  Yes, miss catching up with them and this morning, I quickly made appointment with both of them before they are "booked" somewhere else.  LOL...

I had a number of things to get done in First Garden, went to Wenn's shop to do some purchases, curry powder of all sorts, meat, fish and prawns.  Oh, I even bought a packet of Bak Kut Teh, recommended by Wenn, (own packaging) and packets of red dates, wolfberries, assorted herbal spices.  After my purchases, I drove to my friend's house just a short distance away and from there, we gathered and went for our lunch in Jelapang!  Yay!!
I was yearning to eat the "Neen Koh" again!   And we saw some prawn fritters cakes....
And Nancy cut them up nicely for easy biting... hahahaha....
As usual, I eat more than them... ahemmm...
I ordered a bowl of noodles as I did not have breakfast in the morning...
Some fried stuff again...
And their famous smoked beancurd with fish paste...
The above cost RM15.40 including of 2 glasses of barley and one cup of coffee...
I thought that was it, our meal time has ended... but it did not!
My friends adjourned to the shop just next door cos something attracted them...
Yes, this shop is famous for their Rojak!
So we did not leave Jelapang without having a plate...
Yes, they have vegetarian noodles too... still hot and nice!
And there is another stall just outside the shop selling pancake....
Well, I wonder whether my stomach can still take in dinner tonight.... hmmmmm....

Light Snacks And Desserts In Jelapang

For many days Our darling city, Ipoh had not seen the sun.... And when it appeared this morning, it was indeed a welcoming sight.... Floods that have been looming around the lowlands for the past couple of weeks will gradually subside in no time.... Provided our sunshine continues to shine and the rain to stay away.....

Coming back to the eve of 2015, the hot sunny day was spent quenching our thirst and "attacking" their famous rojak in Jelapang.......
The shop I have nearly forgotten until this afternoon.....
                                           The Jelapang Rojak.....

Quenched down with an alluring ABC also known as ice kacang....
Besides these, we also ordered a plate of tasty noodles and a piece of pancake (Tai Kau Meen) with peanuts and corn fillings.... Oh dear, come to think of it....it was not a light lunch after all...

Jelapang

It has been several years since I last went to my maternal grandmother's home in Jelapang. She is no more around but my auntie (kau moe) is now occupying the house. Since my kids have not been there for few years since, I took the opportunity to take them there, telling them that I had stayed there before during my school holidays primary time....

those days all muddy sand roads...
now fully tar roads...

as I took my kids to walk along the row of houses..
these wooden houses fascinated them....
I remember those days most houses were wooden...

there were still two wooden houses in sight....

this house reminded me of how I draw "a house"
during my younger days...
two windows and a door....

very authentic...
Must take a picture to remember it by....
