Missing MH370, All England Championship And The Answer

The week started off with good and bad news....

As we all know until to date, there is still no sign of our missing MH370... I am still following the updates on a lot of websites, whether true or not, I am as baffled as the "experts."  From fishermen's sighting of the plane during the early morning till the possibilities of how the plane went missing, I read them all.... this is bad news...

The good news is about our Datuk Lee Chong Wei... he won straight sets against Chen Long in the All England Championship last night or should I say this morning.  Yes, I stayed up to watch the midnight game that lasted till 1.30am.... and naturally I have "panda eyes" today and kept yawning the whole day in the office.

And now for the "entertainment" news, here is the answer to yesterday's guess-away.

For almost the whole day, I was tuned in to Astro 501 for latest updates on the missing MAS and it is indeed a mystery of where, why and how. To date, there are no confirmed news where the aircraft is... I hope that with the help of foreign power from other countries, they will shed some light to this mystery. As I read in FB, what we can do to join as one big family to pray for safety and comfort for those affected....

My colleagues suggested to come by to AEON Jaya Jusco for our lunch and I gladly joined them for a meal set in Kenny Rogers.  It has been quite some time since I last visited Kenny Rogers for a meal, compared to other fast food chains, I like the food here especially the grilled chicken in original sauce.  This outlet is normally crowded in the evenings but we can easily find a place during lunch hour on a weekday.

It was almost 1pm when we reached and the crowd was not here yet...

It is not often that I go for fast food, only when occasion arises.... I prefer them to be delivered to my doorstep especially in the evenings when I come home from work and feeling dead tired to go out for dinner.  Now that Andy is home, I have to start cooking but there are times when he requested for home delivery food.  That is definitely good news to me!  I can just log in to my Foodpanda and choose our choice of food.  (For tired and lazy like me, this website really comes in handy! LOL... .)

The Answer And Ibis Hotel Bencoolen, Singapore

Alright... the answer to the previous post...  I found my handphone in my CAR!!  When I reached home, I was searching high and low for my hp... my girl even called my hp number but the ringing sound was not heard in the house.... and my last resort to search for my hp was my car.... and it was indeed there lying on the front seat... with 20 Missed Calls and few SMS-es...  What's next, Reanaclaire???   So ... the ones who guessed the correct answer are from GINNY AND BRENCIA!!  Congratulations!!  And the most popular place mentioned is the TOILET!  aikkksss.... LOL....

Alright... excitement over... back to my Singapore trip...

A short vacation on Saturday till Tuesday... 4 days of relaxation down south...

OK, now I am back, the answer to my previous post here is now to be revealed... (Someone commented "oooiiiii, why no answer yet!)  LOL...  Someone is getting impatient because his answer is not only correct, he was the first commenter in that post... and not only that, he also sounded very 100% that he was right!  Well, I really cannot deny that... he IS indeed correct... I LEFT MY HANDPHONE AT HOME!  Of all things... how forgetful and careless.... sigh...

And for those who got them correct, they are.... TM, Small Kucing, SK and STP!  Sorry, Bananz, cannot put "all of the above one"... you really made me laugh over your comment..  hahahahaa....  

Some of the guesses I received were phone charger, oxygen tank aka broadband, make up kit, lipstick, old flower glasses and one said panties!  hahahaaa....  really... so serious!

When I came home, I was looking high and low for my hp... told my girl to ring it... no sound from within the house... WANNA GUESS WHERE I LEFT IT?  One tip... the HP was within the home compound and not anywhere else away from the house....

Guess-away Prize For My Blunder

Halfway to the airport, I realized that I have forgotten to bring an important item with me.... For a moment I was in total shock... How?  I have two options... either forego it or turn back... I opted for the latter... Don't like to trouble others and at the same time, It might take some time to turn back and I might be late for boarding...

So careless of me!  How forgetful I am... But as I wait here, I should have turned back and get it from the house....

Well, my fault... Now I have to live without it temporarily...

Marriot Vacation Club At Empire Place

The whole gang of us stayed in Marriot Vacation Club at the Empire Place for a week (yes, I think it was around that)  Initially I thought we were staying in JW Marriot hotel and the cab nearly took us to the wrong destination.  After much explanation, the place we should be going is Empire Place on the very road that is most "jammed up" during the day...

 That's the front entrance... it is a vacation club.... 

or should I say apartments...

We stayed in a two rooms apartment....

which consisted of one king size bed... 

and another room with two single beds...

Three of us managed to squeeze in here.. LOL...

 

then the living hall... 

the couch turned into a queen size bed...

and we added another extra one...

The whole place was practically filled with "us"...

The dining area.... everything looks good!....

All were fully furnished...

Each day 10 big filtered water were supplied

with another 2 bottles of "Cooling tea" ...

What a beautiful layout...

How I wish I have an apartment like this....

Less work.. More comfy....

It Is Otak-Otak!

A few of you have guessed correctly.... The name of this dish is called....

OTAK-OTAK!! 

When the dish was served, I was taken aback... I expected the otak-otak to be wrapped up .. instead it came out on a big plate just like the above .... Well, the taste is somewhat different... it was not as juicy, I preferred it to be wrapped up as it is supposed to be....

Okay... as for the correct answers... They are from...... SK, Merryn, YKristen, Wenn, Angeline and Mun!   Six of you got the answer correct... and since there is only one prize, I have to make a "draw" again...

Name The Dish - Assam House, Greentown, Ipoh

Assam House in Greentown Business Centre... Yes, we went there during the festive season. While all the other shops were either full or crowded, we were so glad when we saw a few empty tables in this restaurant... It has been a few years since I last ate in this shop and I couldn't remember much about the food taste...

Three of you answered correctly.... The dish that we ordered Big Portion was Ju Hu Char!  Yea, it was our favourite dish and we wanted to eat to our satisfaction... Lol.... Many of you guessed the crispy fried squid, not too bad but a normal portion will do for that dish... :)

Bee Gaik is one of our favourite dining place, I like the food portions there, they don't come out in "gigantic" portions unless we request for it.   The other day when we went for dinner, we ordered these few dishes and we requested a BIG portion of one certain dish which we all love....

I think it is a Hokkien dish since the name is in Hokkien...

I heard that the sengkuang taste better when cut by knife instead of shred...

Why is it so?  Any explanation?

My kids enjoyed this Peranakan restaurant  very much...

Pre-Polling Day And 3 Correct "Guessers"

Tonight is Pre-Polls night... or should I call it "Voting Eve" day?  Ipoh seems to be bustling with life, the streets seems to be jammed up with cars here and there in town and even in residential areas.  It reminded me of our yearly festive season like Chinese New Year... Never before I experienced such "excitement" during the pre-polling days. I told my son to park the car outside.. just in case our gate might be blocked tomorrow morning by voters.. then we would be left "stranded" in the house with no breakfast... :)

Well, this post is about voting and also to announce the 3 guessers in my post "Where Am I Giveaway."  The first three correct Guess-ers are... WK, Angeline Ong and Mun.  Yes, I went to Scotland to have a 12 days holiday with my SIL and to join my son who was there for a two weeks business trip.  He extended an extra week to drive us around some places in Scotland before we flew back to Singapore on the 26th.. and we made it back in time for Polling Day!
