The Brave Warrior, My Mama

My Mama underwent an operation on her right eye today, her left eye was operated last month. She is very brave and courageous, she told me no pain one...only slight discomfort and just now she said a bit itchy only on her eye... but couldn't "scratch" it cos it is still bandaged up like that..

She is actually looking forward to this operation on her right eye after a successful operation on her left eye because her vision has improved tremendously. All these years before the operation, she was having blur vision .... But now she is close to having clear vision and eyesight.. Thanks and praise be to God...

The second operation was delayed because of her sore in her toe here...... I really admire my mama... despite her sore eye and her sore toe, she can still smile for me.... I told her I am going to blog about her and especially for my sister, Michelle who is overseas.... she can now see Mama on the big screen....

"Well, sister, here is our Mama's bandaged EYE and TOE.... You Asked For It" :)

Pre-Exam Stress

My son's trial exams were just over 2 weeks ago. When I asked him this evening, what subjects he had got back, he told me very softly 2 papers.... Modern Maths and Chemistry. When he told me his marks, I was so emotional that I wanted to cry... but I held back...at that moment, I didnt want to say anything, it would either turn out to be an angry or hurtful remark. Give me few minutes to steady myself, I walked away.

He knows, he feels bad too....
I know he is trying.... though not his very best yet....

It is not easy to study hard... one has to put in a lot of effort to get good results, I know, I have been there before...

When my boiling point is back to normal, I just said... "Do your very best, make more effort and you will sow what you reap."

Period. End.

Hope he understands....

Lunch under Yum Yum Trees in Kampong Koh

Foodie time.... we lunched at Kampong Koh, few kilometers away from Sitiawan before leaving for IPOH. This is a "must" whenever we stay in Lumut. There are many seafood restaurants along the road and each time we go, we normally eat at this Jit Yue Hong, under natural type of air condition supplied by fans and breezes from the local coconut trees....

Church Dinner

OUR CELL GROUP attended Methodist Senior Fellowship dinner, it was a yearly affair. Oh, by the way, I am not considered a senior yet... (not qualified yet due to my age..hehe) .. I bought the dinner ticket to be with my cell group and secondly, my sister and I have to lead worship before the dinner.

We chose 4 simple songs and it was the first time we were leading the congregation for a dinner function playing our guitars... During the initial stage, my fingers were trembling and seemed to be getting "knotted up" with the guitar strings ... thank God, after some warming up, they (the fingers) were able to strum...

worshiping and singing praises to our Lord

the opening dinner dish...

Cheers to 75 year old Charlie and Irene ... my cell group members

Cendol In Sitiawan

SINCE WE HAVE 2 DAYS OFF, we went to Lumut to spend a night there. It was such a hot day in Lumut and when we passed by this cendol, we saw quite a number of people waiting to be served. Since there was a number, it must be pretty good. While waiting, I managed to get a short interview and snapped a few pictures of him. He gladly obliged....

His name is Bala and he has been in this cendol business for the past nine years. For those who like to taste this cendol, you will see him along the main road, right outside an indian temple and a short distance away from The Store supermarket in Sitiawan.

this is Lumut cendol... not as sweet as in IPOH cendol

next to Bala, another stall selling different kinds of peanuts (kacang putih)

Sleeping Prince

LAST NIGHT my whole family went out for a dinner and we waited nearly an hour for the food to arrive. My nephew was so tired and was kind of 'knocked out' while waiting for the food... I couldnt resist not taking a picture of him....
