Lotus Rats Nuts Pancake Potatoes In Old Town

By the time the cock crowed three times this morning, we were already in old town having our stomachs filled.... We were very hungry... without waiting for the bell to ring, we were already sitting in the old coffeeshop, enjoying our first meal of the day.....

Old town is very quiet during the early morning...

along the way, there are authentic buildings in sight...

we have to walk through the lane before reaching our destination..

today's special soup is lotus, nuts and red dates soup..
RM4.50 per bowl with noodles ..

I ordered "rat noodles" immersed with in soup...
first time I am taking noodles with lotus...

Elin opted not for rats but mihun...
she was enjoying herself to the brim...

for desserts, we ordered groundnut pancake...
(apom balik - 70 cents per piece)

lastly but least, my meal is sealed with a big bowl
sweet potatoes in sweet syrup...
So.... after this heavyweight breakfast,
we skipped our lunch and went to zzzzzZZZZZZZZZ....

82 Year Old Woman Rejected By 67 Year Old Man?

For many days I have been blogging about food and this cool guy has commented that it is going to be like this Cikgu's blog sooner or later.... Actually I agree with him.... I know I have been blogging about food, food and more food these days... WHY? Because Ipoh is not a Happening city... I am not a Happening lady.... I wake up, work, come home, blog, sleep.... and this routine repeats itself everyday.....

Okay, this post is not about food... this post will be about LOVE.... or is it??

Have anyone read the STAR paper on the 8th July about a 82 year old lady pining for her "boyfriend" of 67 years old? She went to approach Michael Chong to locate this man... and on the 13th July, this man appeared and declared publicly that he is not in love with her nor wants to have anything to do with her....

Their pictures were splashed in The STAR paper... I don't read the papers.... I only heard about this from my friend and being curious, I dug out the articles online a moment ago...

Well, I cannot say who is not right nor wrong... cos I grow old too one day....

As someone commented.... age has no bounds when it comes to love...

Asian And Western, East Meets West

I love Saturdays! It is really a time of "freeing mind." Can wake up as late as I can and go for our meals at odd times without anyone nagging.....

My girl and I enjoy this time of meal bonding... My girl only loves certain food so she will be the one who chooses the place most of the time. For this meal below, we went to Kah Lok coffeeshop in Persiaran Greenhill...

she ordered her favourite spaghetti...
she always have high praises for this..
and it cost only RM4.50!

This is mine.. minced pork mee with "rat noodles"
dont "urgh...".. the noodles are actually very nice..

for dessert, we went to The Brownies in De Garden..
The offer is still on...this time we had two scoops of Haagan Dazs

and it comes with one piece of brownie!
Guess the price......
It cost only RM7.90!!
Where else can you get such a PRICE!
Guess both of us have to go Polo Ground after this bash!

Super Cheap And No Sweat, Phew!!

I wonder how many of you like to wash our own cars.....hahahaaa....

When it comes to washing and cleaning the inside out of the car, the idea of sweating out in the porch really "scares" me.... each time I wash and clean my car, I get "dizzy spells" and real exhaustion after that...

But thanks to this car wash outlet near my house!!! The very first time I went there was last month (imagine all these years I have been "slaving" for my car!).... and since then, I like this car wash service very much!

For less than 10 minutes, my car came out clean and nice... only cost RM3.00 ($1.00usd) and if it includes vacuuming the whole car, I only add another RM4.00.... (real cheap, kan??)

first time I was like "ah beng"
I didn't know what I should do....

so...just followed the car....

alamak!! Cannot see liow....
Panic for awhile....
Off the camera... and in less than 5 minutes,
my Red Babe came out Clean and Nice!
I bought one book of vouchers for 10 washes..
It cost only RM2.50 for one Wash!!

So SUPER CHEAP!!
NO SWEAT TOO!!

Our Sinful Desire

For the past two Fridays, my girl and I have been frequenting The Family bread shop in Ipoh Garden East, sort of addicted to them. My girl has sweet tooth too, just like me and she likes these mini cheese tarts that this shop has.

They are not cheap... it is almost one ringgit for one..
just two bites and they are gone....

And for the past two weeks too,
we dwell in this cheese cake in Coffeebean...
no coffee but cheese for us...

But this week we definitely will skip this...
It is way much too much for me already...
otherwise I need a new wardrobe!

Parkson Grand Again And Again...

Almost every Friday we have our lunch in the Parkson Grand food court. That is the only place we "loiter" around... so much to see and too much to eat... but I am going to get "fedup" of the food soon... very soon.....

The food there is not really that nice... only certain stalls...

my girl is sort of "addicted" to the spaghetti stall there..
she tried this cheesy chicken ... RM12.90
I feel it is a bit overpriced.. but then...
I cannot blame them cos the rental is high too...

as for me, I always end up taking Chee Cheong Fun...
with a bit of everything...

accompanied by various fish balls with vegetables...

and "drowned" ourselves with a bowl of Cendol...
not to say very nice...
cos it is not so santan-ic and creamy..
which is fine with me...

Well, these were our lunch...
and dinner was just bread and bread...
so simple, yeah?

Nuffnang Or Innity?

I am no more an exclusive member of Nuffnang, that means NO more a Glitterati member as well..

I cannot post up my daily posts to the innit.nuffnang anymore.... readers from there will "miss" my posts... hahahaha... perasan only!

I have violated one of their terms and conditions.... one of them states that I cannot put up any competitor website that is Asian based.. such as in Innity. I heard of Innity through a Penang blogger, a rugged male with a beautiful wife and two lovely sons... (can guess who, right?) He told me that Innity pays better than Nuffnang, if we qualify.....

Being curious and "money-minded", I logged into Innity... signed up.... and I got my approval a few days ago.. Put up their banners and ads on the 12th... and just now when I checked my account, it showed RM11.37 already!

My nuffnang for three years plus has only RM90 plus.. what is wrong? I also don't know..
But for Innity, two or three days ago, I have RM11.37 already... I cannot say much for now.. it is just a few days.. lets wait and see later on...
