My Hi Tea And My "Tightness"

I received a lot of "spankings" (piak ..piak) from my yesterday's post and I kept shouting "ouch, ouch!" and today I could still feel the "red spanking marks" on my face mind ... sigh.. so sad...  OK, jokes aside, seriously, the spankings were given to me out of concern, thank you for your "Slaps", they jerked me up and making me alert of what should be eaten and what's not....

This afternoon we had a very enjoyable "Hi Tea"... an annual affair in conjunction to a competition called "Who is the Biggest Loser"....  The theme of the party is Blue or Purple attire and there will be a Gift for the one with the outstanding outfit.... (my boss won!)

As for the food, most of them were not in my "Ok" category... so I ended up eating almost nothing.. hehehee... believe it or not?  ah... well........

In this post, I have to "blog smart"... no showing of the food I have eaten otherwise I definitely will get more than "spankings"... (rotan this time..ouch!! ouch!!!)
At the entrance before food...
I was feeling very comfortable in my tight kebaya...
initially..... ahemmmm...
V Trademark.. I wonder who started that... hmmmm...
Must be this Elin ....
(double my trademark some more!)

See, I stood beside the food only..
No "eating"....
The temptation of the chocolate was so strong... sigh...
Nevertheless, I just took some fruits cocktail...
That is definitely permissible...
My BF......
(Buddy Forever!)
 My AA....
(Anak Angkat!)
She calls me Mama Reanaclaire..
how old am I, by the way???
Well..... I have to confess that this is my favourite....
I will thus call this Sweet Spot.....

Oh, one lesson learn about this eating event.... that is....
Never Ever wear this tight kebaya again... I could hardly BREATHE!!!

Mind Over Tempation In Li Yuan

It has been more than one month since my girl last came home... and what did she miss most about IPOH? It starts with "F" and it is a 4-letter word and ends with a "D"... Yes, all of you guessed correctly... Ipoh is just famous for its Food and nothing more than FOOD! She has a lot of food-lined-up during her four days stay back home.... From home cooked food to open air hawker food and to air condition outlets, Li Yuan Dim Sum is one of them in her mind...

How to order dim sum for two persons?  Started off with "ticking" what she wanted... and since I was still on "restriction mode" on food, I thought I could sit back like a "good girl" here and watched her enjoyed the food... hmmmm....
Our first time here in Li Yuan....
Just opposite Sushi Zento in Festival Walk...
So...what did she order?  Here they are....
Mini Egg Tarts
Pan fried raddish... (took two small pieces when temptation won over me)
Took half of this... for self satisfaction... hahahaa...
Took one of these Mini Avacado with green tea dumpling.....
Last and not least....
Took half of portion of these Shanghai noodles!
Half of this and half of that made my stomach full already...
For two persons such as us, they were more than enough...

Well, I guess I didn't manage to be a Good Girl after all....
The mind is strong but the mouth is weak... LOL....

Passion Food To Face The Battle

Listen to Mama... Must cut off fried stuff, oily stuff and "heaty" stuff... and what makes the saddest of them all is the restriction on the Fruit King, The Durian!  Well, for now at least... and what makes is hard is that durian season is On now!   sigh.... Oh...well....

Another "clear" day for my stomach... no spicy, no oily-ness... just a homemade nutritious soup boiled from fish and minced meat and cooked with lots of greens.... Well, isn't that wonderful diet?  :)  I really have to thank my mother for taking care of me....  (when I should be taking care of her actually!) She makes sure I eat the correct food so as to "combat" the virus that is "attacking" and "making war" in my body system...  (will elaborate more on the war zone once I win the battle!)
Today's menu is "Tau Chim"
Dry Flat Noodles....
But once it is cooked with hot water, it becomes like this ...
Very smooth oil-less noodles....
and topped with lots of greens and protein....
This is what I called "Passion Food"

Porridge For A Teochiew

After all the "running around here and there" like an old springy chicken, the body has finally taken its toil... Yes, I am talking about me.. yours truly here took a few days off work..... I was already on Rest Leave since Monday ... but tomorrow I will have to drag my weary legs to work... and who says retirement is no good?

Meanwhile... to "cleanse" my body system again, I had two days of blended carrot juice and green apples in the morning.  For lunch and for dinner, I took porridge.... thanks to my Great Mama, she cook my favourite condiments to go with the porridge...
steamed... and steamed.... both goes well with the plain porridge...
See, I eat simple... I can have two plates of porridge anytime....
This proves that I am a typical Teochiew nang...
Another much sought after porridge is this ... Roasted Pork Bones.....
For two consecutive days, I have this RPB...
(Siew Chu Kwat Chok... very yap mei!)
YUMMSSS!!

Some Last Minute Shots Of Penang

Thank you for teaching me a new word... Mural Paintings.. now only I know they are called as such... hahahaa...Well, I hope the mural paintings will continue to be an attraction for tourists and will not be vandalized in any way...

Before we left for Penang, I took a few shots of the town....

Time to bade goodbye to Penang....
Dropped Andy back to the hotel where his car was parked...
And started "two hours journey" back to Ipoh....
Though Penang is only two hours away from Ipoh, this is only the second time of the year that we went there.  Hope to make another one more trip before the year ends..... Love driving to Penang cos I know that I will never get lost in Penang Island!  LOL....

Main Attraction Of Penang Sights And Travels

From Penang Road, we drove around the town area looking for the main spotlight of the trip... ie. the Wall Paintings....  We heard and read about these wall paintings in the town but never really seen them in real yet... Thanks to our our Penang tour guide, Andy.... in no time, we managed to park our car around the vicinity and walked around.... ooopsss.. must take umbrella, OK!
If you see the crowd, you will know that something Happening must be there, right?
Yes, another line-up!
Not for cendol this time though....... hahahaa.....
But for the bicycle and two joyful kids....
Something familiar, right?
ahhhhhhh!!!
Around the area, we came upon some cartoons made from metal and wires...
Anyone read the scripts above?

Not sure what these cartoons meant...
Must go and read properly next time...
But at least they "brighten" up the town area....
A Giganto Cat!!
Step By Step Lane... hmmmm....
Very nice and real though...
Hope the paint colours won't fade so soon...
For those who prefer not to walk.. you can opt for
CYCLING!!
Yes, we can go cycling around... especially in the evening when the sun is down...
It is a better option... I think I will do that next time! :)

Under The Hot Sun For A Bowl Of Cendol

After the jetty sight seeing, we proceeded to Penang Road, just a short distance away... actually I have mentioned in previous posts that Penang Road is no more in my itinerary, but since my friend had not been there to taste their famous cendol, we had to stop by to let her experience how and what is Penang Road cendol is all about....
The stretch along the Off Penang Road...
Narrow but still cars can squeeze in...
Forever a busy and a narrow lane.... the crowd is always there...
oh dear... so hot.....  some more have to queue...
is it worth waiting under the hot sun???
my goodness... still can smile one...

I NEED AN UMBRELLA!!
Too bad we forgot to bring it down from the car...
sigh... never mind...I guess I need some sun tan on my skin...
Now.... IS THIS WORTH QUEUING UP FOR?
Well, worth or not... it has been done...
Just remember to take an umbrella along, OK?

Where Am I in 2025

9 MONTHS!  I have been away from this blog for so long... (I thought it was more than a year)  So much have happened and I do not know where...
