Maritime Suites Karpal Singh Drive, Penang

AIRBNB.... My son stay rented a few nights stay at one of the residences along Karpal Singh Drive called Maritime Suites. I was told that the pricing was reasonable, only setback is the parking which is a bit complicated but then, it was not an issue for experienced drivers unlike me.  LOL... 

It was a two rooms penthouse condo, very nice and airy considering the high ceiling and all.  But I do not like to climb the stairs to the bedroom, the youngsters like it... now at my age, I prefer to have same level bedrooms.  *Yes, that is why I am donning my hair white, no more dyeing.... *  A very confirmed senior!  However, I love the scenery through the glass walls....

A Night To Remember in 2023

A BELATED BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION POST... 

Yes, almost a month already since my birth-day, I have these pictures taken before I got Covid.  At least I had a pre-celebration with my love ones then.  On the real day, I stayed in bed all by myself, quarantined and being a good girl for five whole days before I really went out again.  I tested myself almost everyday, from two clear lines to faint and then totally one line disappeared.

Anyway, Thank God, I am fine now, even though I could feel some after effects like breathing wholely as before, other than that, it is all good.  If those who have covid before, they will know what I meant when it comes to breathing.  This time I did not cough as serious as the first time, I feel eating cordyceps and tiger milk helps as I have been taking them for some months now.

Back to my post, my son and family flew to Penang a few days before my Big Day and we had dinner at Chinese Recreation Club.  Dinner was good and of course, the company with my love ones are even better.  Thanks to all of them who made this day memorable.... 

A night to remember for 2023!

Never Have I Ever...

I am not surprised that I would get infected with Covid virus again, I have myself to blame for I did not wear masks ever since I came back from US.  But never have I ever expect to get this virus on the day before my birthday!  LOL... 

My kids and I had made plans to celebrate my birthday in a happy poshy style... ahemmm... not exactly posh, just exaggerating on my part here.  But alas, it did not come out as planned, the night before my Big Day, I was feeling kind of lethargic, I couldn't sleep and I had a stinging sensation in my throat.  I did not expect it to the virus, the next morning, I felt very flu-ish, not feverish, it was like my bones were aching and I shivered at the running water from the tap.  I thought it would go away after taking a panadol.... no, it did not...

My son advised me to take a covid test and in less than a few seconds, there were two bright clear lines on the test kit.  Oh no.... what should I do?  My grandchildren were around, and the next thing I knew, my daughter-in-law also had it.  Hers is fainter in color but nevertheless two lines too.  Aiyoh....

Leaving no choice, both of us were confined to a room and the male have to take care of the small little ones.  It was a big project especially the ladies were not around to help.... well, the guy had to do what the ladies would have done, feeding, bathing and putting them to sleep.

As for the infected, both of us just drank lots of lemon and honey juice, ate 3000mg of Vitamin C for the next five days.  That was when we got a negative sign on the test kit and we were freed to go.  The father and the kids were not infected, thank God... 

So I guess Covid virus is here to stay, whether we like it or not.  From then on, mask is mandatory again for me.  This is the second time I have Covid, the first one was two years back.  Since then I have been taking Tiger mushroom and recently started off with cordyceps capsules from Eu Yan Sang.  I guess those helps to strengthen back the lungs, cos this second time round, I did not cough as drastically as the first time.  Anyway, you all take care too... be protected....

 

You Have Finished The Race

BEFORE I LEFT FOR US in August, I told Nancy to wait for me to come back.... my trip was a short one this time, two months and one week....

I landed in Penang on the 9 November and came back to Ipoh on the 10th the next day.  I went to see her around 2pm, she was still conscious though most of the time, her eyes were closed.  I called out her name, she opened her eyes and nodded.... but she could not talk anymore.  A week before I came home, I messaged her through voice whatapp, she could still respond then.  She told me that her situation was going downhill, she knew she could not last long.... and that was the last I heard her voice.

The next morning at 7.30am, I received a call from her husband, the moment I heard his voice, I knew Nancy has left and returned to our Lord.  Two days of wake service and she was laid to rest on the third day.  

Rest in peace, Nancy, you are truly a wonderful lady!

Our Bundle of Joy

YES... THAT'S THE REASON I AM HERE...

To welcome this innocent angel baby and being here to carry a newborn grandchild for the first time!  

I have two other grandchildren born under the Covid pandemic season and I couldn't be near to them when they were born.  So this is considered my first time being present to hold the newborn baby in my arms.... as the saying goes:  Fresh from the oven... and for this case, Fresh from the Womb!   LOL.... 

Thank you Baby came on the due date, not one month earlier as her brother did.  I flew in two weeks earlier before the date, just in case... praying that the baby wouldn't come out before I reached otherwise the brother does not have anywhere to go when the parents go to hospital.  Anyway, all was good.... the parents were in the hospital with the baby for two days before they were discharged while both of us were in the house waiting patiently for them to come home.

Once the baby came home, no more peace.... LOL.... little innocent baby filled the house with her shrills, screams and cries.  Time flies, Baby now is more than a month old.... transition period.... from more sleeping time for baby to more sleepless moments for adults.  No more peaceful full night rest for the parents...  As for me, I have to tend to the Brother, waking up very early for his first morning milk!

Anyway, Thank God.... All is good and well... for now, at least.... I can go home soon!  LOL...

Food Inside And Outside Our Home

TIME ROCKETS...  I am here for more than a month already without realizing it until now... 

What have I been doing all this time... besides cooking full time, cleaning up house and having fun with the naughty cheeky boy?  Yes, those chores definitely occupy my mind here, no time to think of non-sense stuff such as my mental and physical health.... practically all were brushed off from my mind.  Focusing on other essential stuff really works!  By night, I am totally exhausted and there is no time to linger on unnecessary problems except to think on what to cook the next day... LOL...

Fun And Stung At Gilroy Gardens

WEEKEND FUN AGAIN... not so much for me cos I have to do most of the chasing!

This time we went to Gilroy Garden, a family themed park for kids mostly.  There are many fun rides but the most liked one is the train which goes through a dark tunnel and round the park for 10 minutes.  I video recorded the train ride and I had to play it again and again for the umpteenth time.  Babysitting an active two years plus boy is no joke, he loves running and being chased around.

This was where I got stung by a bee.... 

Not in the pool but by the lazy chairs when I was eating... 

The bee also wanted to eat my food....

I was definitely not prepared for this....

So in the end, all was good except for the bee sting...

After applying ice pack and a band aid, my palm was better....

The itchiness lasted for a couple of days....

Next time I know better....

Look at it first before I bat anything away with my hand!
