Fishing Village Called Boddam For Crabs and Lobsters

SATURDAY MORNING...

We set out on a short trip to Boddam, a coastal village, half an hour north from Aberdeen.  It is a small fishing village and Aaron used to get his fresh seafood from a fisherman named John.  The night before Aaron called him to reserved some crabs and lobsters. Oh yes, he enquired about the prices too.. one kilogram of crabs is 2.50 pounds (around RM14)  and one kg of lobster is around 13 pounds! (around RM70)  Ohhh... how not to buy!  We must go, I told Aaron.....

The next day, the weather was very nice... sunny all the way for our one hour day trip.  Five of us squeezed into the car the next day... bringing home around 17 crabs and 2 big lobsters for dinner that evening.
Such a lovely weather on the highway....
I think I can drive too... if given a chance... LOL...
About an hour later, we reached Boddam...
The harbour where John is waiting for us...
ahhhh.. there he is...
Hauling the net of crabs up to his boat....

His name for the boat is Fertility.... indeed very productive!
His assistant going down to the boat to help John....
16 crabs was around 14kg and he gave one free crab to go...
Total we paid was 35 pounds for 17 crabs and 2 big lobsters....
Brown Crabs...
Aaron was most excited...
Information for the visitors like us...
The famous lighthouse in Boddam...
The happy campers before setting out further to Peterhead for our lunch....

Our Grilled Steak At The Wellington Pub And Grill, Aberdeen

EATING OUT...

It was a Friday evening and we went out for a nice grilled steak at one of the renowned pubs in Aberdeen here.  Aaron told me that The Wellington served good steaks, I have been craving for one ever since I arrived.  I cannot find any good steaks in my own hometown and now since I am here, I must go for more of these before I go home.  LOL...

After walking at the Union Square for an hour or so, we reached The Wellington around 8.45pm, by that time, both of us were really hungry.  Time to dig in!!
Actually this is a hotel which houses 20 rooms...

Their Pub and Grill place...
Nice ambiance...
A giant menu for each of us....
Eyeing the Steak...
And so we ordered a 10oz steak, medium done....
It came with sweet potato fries, grilled vegetables and even a clove of garlic...
Now I know we can grill garlic this way... we finished them all...
We ordered Chicken Wings too...
Dipped with Mango and Pineapple sauce... very nice!
And our evening ends with a piece of rich chocolate brownie with a scoop of ice cream...
Total cost 25 pounds... which is really worth the meal shared by both of us...
Thumbs UP for the scrumptious meal at Wellington!

Tete A Tete At Park Cafe, Aberdeen

TETE A TETE....

Despite her busyness, Mary makes sure that I have enough food in my fridge, and not only that, she takes me along for her coffee break each day.  This is the time she loves most each day, relaxing at cafes, sipping her beloved coffee, latte or cappucinos.  And I am the blessed one, tagging alongside with her to these cafes.

During one afternoons, we spent a couple of hours browsing through a big shop, selling used stuff including furniture and all kinds of accessories.  We ended up buying some books for our reading leisure.  Forgot the name of the shop but it is near to Hazelhead park where we had our tete a tete after our shopping.
Not sure why Bruce on every stone engraved there...
The Park Cafe...
We had hot drinks....
Coffee for Mary, Lemongrass Ginger tea for me...
We shared a giant slice of Roselle Cake...
Mary's sweet smiles...
My thumb up pose as usual...
And a welfie before we started digging into the mouth watering dessert!

Badminton At Woodbank, Aberdeen

SWINGING THE RACKET...

I thought I am done with badminton, I had not been playing for a few years already in Malaysia...  and now over here in Aberdeen, it seems I have to hold the racket again, I just cannot resist playing though the "skills" are no more there.... LOL... NO power, no accuracy and slow of course, really "rusty" ... feel kind of "shy" to be in the courts with new people, new grounds and learning from them.

Seems this will be our regular hangout during the weekdays' evenings, at least twice a week to lose some sweat, real dripping sweat from the running..... otherwise, it is all about burning fats due to the coldness of the weather.  The weather makes me hungry very fast and I keep eating every hour or so...
Before entering the courts, we had a light tea at the Woodbanks club for Shell members....
A nice glass of hot coffee or was it cappucino?
No, it is not mine, I settled for lemon tea which I had forgotten to take...
Two badminton courts....
After some warming up, the game starts....
Partnering with Mary who is the real good player...
Ready to "kill".... LOL...
Nice to meet with new friends from Brunei, Miri and Germany...
Aaron waiting for the opponent to smash...
And the evening ended one for the album...
The blurry picture must be due to the shaky hands after a good match..
LOL...

On The Campus Grounds At Aberdeen University, Scotland

ON UNIVERSITY GROUNDS...
Aberdeen University is just opposite Brentwood Villa, the guest house which is owned by my friend.  Professors from foreign countries love to stay at her place, parents of students also find her guest house very convenient, it is just directly opposite Aberdeen University and I, too is staying nearby.  This area makes me feel younger, walking alongside with the students and whenever I look out from my window, mainly are young looking people!  LOL...

One evening before dinner, Aaron and I took a walk to the inside grounds of the university.  Unlike in Malaysia, where there are guards all around the campus, over here, it is a free ground.  We can go through the main entrance and to the campus grounds, no one bothers.  My son told me that I could even go into the lecture hall... serious???  Well, I guess I am not going to try that.... but I do not mind going again into the vicinity of the halls, the landscaping is too beautiful to resist....

This evening we just walked a small bit.... it was almost dusk when we came out.... one day, I must go in when the sun is shining bright...

At the entrance....
And as we walked around.... just a small fraction of the campus...
The University of Aberdeenis a public research university in Aberdeen, Scotland founded in 1945
No wonder it is open to the public...
One section of the lecture halls...
Aberdeen has approximately 13,500 students from undergraduate to doctoral level,
including many international students..
The main campus is now at King's College, where the original buildings are still in use in addition to many newer buildings of largely modernist style.
As dusk falls.... it is so beautiful....
One can just sit here on the grounds... just to relax... if not for the cold weather...
See, get what I mean?
Relax....
Very historical feel....
And the rest of my poses....
Taken on a brighter side...
And this the original lighting at 7pm...

Where Am I in 2025

9 MONTHS!  I have been away from this blog for so long... (I thought it was more than a year)  So much have happened and I do not know where...
