Village Park And Living Food Restaurant, Kuala Lumpur

With stomachs growling after the tedious walk in Bukit Kiara Park, we were taken to Damansara Utama SS2... our first destination is called Village Park Restaurant. According to my friend, this shop serves the best Nasi Lemak in town.. true enough, the tables were fully occupied, from the shop to the pavement and to the road! I didn't take any pictures on the patrons.. (for fear I might received staring eyes!)

I managed to take these pictures though....
By the time we reached here, it was almost 11am...
Queuing up to order....Queuing up to pay....
We waited for some ten minutes or so and we were served...
My friend called this "Chui, Chui...."  (crispy, crispy)
and surprisingly, the Malay staff understood what she wanted...
These are actually remnants of their famous fried chicken...
We had two plates of these Nasi Lemak shared among three of us....
Not too bad.... actually...
But the price of one plate is RM8.30
Blurry picture because of the yellow lighting there....
And the bill came to a total RM24.70 inclusive of three drinks....
Well, what can an IPOHian say.... :)
*burp!*

And as if it was not enough, my friend took us to another shop along the same row... She told us that we must try the Lam Mee in this shop called Living Food Restaurant....
To the KL-ites, this is called Lam Mee...
But in Ipoh, this is called Loh Mee.... which is which now?  :)
We only ordered a plate and shared among us...
As our stomachs are already 3/4 full, we ordered a bit of this.....
fried fish paste in beancurd skin... not too bad...
and some mixed fish balls.....I like it cos it has some cuttlefish taste...
The bill for the above plus 3 drinks came to RM20.30!
*WOW*
Well, what can I say actually...
Only one thing... I am glad that I work in Ipoh..
I think I cannot survive eating outside food in KL.... hahaha....
One advantage though...
The set of food above lasted us throughout the wholeday!
Our next meal was only taken around 7.30pm!

  4. wah, RM8.30 for that ah?? but looks like it's a more upclass kind of restaurant and not roadside stall.. the "chui chui" sure can give for free lah, and i also agree it will be very tasty to go with the rice..

errr, we have both lam mee and loh mee in KL.. ask your friend to try both and see what's the difference..

  6. That's lam mee alright. I prefer lam mee compared to loh mee. Oh in Ipoh it's called loh mee? OK this is confusing like Hokkien mee in Penang compared to KL too.

  8. Queue? I'd rather go elsewhere and eat something else not as nice, never mind how good it is.

I cannot stand it that when they're so popular and making so much money out of the customers and yet they cannot do something to make their place more customer friendly like maybe, set up another order and payment counter during busy/peak hours...

Thankfully, the food did not take too long to be served.

  13. I've been to Village Park once only. The nasi lemak is one of the better ones but don't think it is worth the wait due to long queue and the price.

I think loh mee in KL has a clearer soup base. Opposite to what you said for loh mee in Ipoh, hahaha.

  14. And..... YOU have been to Village Park. You'd be surprised to know that many of us who are residing in PJ/KL have never dined there due to the queue. We malas :P

  18. I love that shop and the food is nice! My Malay colleague told me that their nasi lemak was the best he had ever eaten.

Opposite Village Park you will find another 2 very popular shops that serves very delicious food. Look out for "Aunty Sim" and "Annie 1".

  20. Hard to survive in KatLumPor with the exorbitant food prices that's why Bananaz merely can afford ekonomi buffet aka 'chapfun' at RM4.50 per meal only. Very 'hor lean' one.

  21. wenn: yes, worth trying out...

TM: I will keep those Auntie and Annie in view! Thanks! :)

Ling: So it is famous for being crowded.. :)

  22. bananaz: hey, not hor leen la.. if you say every day eat white porridge then maybe la.. hahaha..

  23. Nasi Lemak is tasty but the lack of carpark in uptown and the queue for getting a place in Village Park has made me think twice to go back again.
