Too bad we forgot to bring our swimming costume with us while we were in Singapore... otherwise we would have gone for a dip during the evening when the sun sets. After all the food we ate, I thought I would need a plus size swim dress already but fortunately, my current one still fits! For the first time, this trip of ours, we did not do much shopping, in fact we spent most of our time in our hotel, relaxing and "basking" in front of the TV and having a great family bonding. This is what I really love too... walk at own leisure and time, no time schedule or appointments to make, no getting up early for morning calls like in those paid tours... well, my kids also agreed with me, this is what we called a Real Holiday....
TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home. All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning. They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste. No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done.... As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang... No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce.... The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....
I agree with you. That's really real holiday, when there is no tour guide chasing you to finish your food and shopping and need to get up early to go somewhere.
ReplyDeleteCan see that you really enjoy your trip this time.
