Scholarship Woes And Holes

At this moment of time, I am sitting in Gloria Jean's coffees having my breakfast, a piece of tuna quiche and a bottle of Snapple.... So this is life in KL city?  :)

Came here by train this morning, woke up at 3.30am and reached the train station before 5am and here in K L by 7.30am....I am still quite blur.... Wish I could just close my eyes sitting here at the lobby...waiting.....

Girl has a scholarship interview at one of the companies here.... Her interviews never seems to end... But I think this will be the last... Get it or not, it has to end Here!  :)

As parents, we tell our kids to study hard so that they will have a brighter future.  I told my girl to study hard to get a scholarship and now I wonder..am I wrong?

Now I realize I am imperfectly wrong, how to define "hard".  Study hard... What la...

Ok, I am not  saying it is wrong to study hard but it is not right when when does and not getting anything out it. It is really disappointing....

I feel scholarships should be given to the needy..but then almost everyone seems to be needing it!  So what do you think the criteria of getting a scholarship?  Should it be given to the needy with good results or to be given to all who achieved good results regardless of their needs?

Confusing?  Sleepy ma
..........

  1. Good luck to your girl...

As parents, what to do? If my girl has to go anywhere - I would go with her too but it's all right for me - retired, nothing else better to do anyway.

  3. that's definitely not life in KL City, but only the life of rich tai-tai in KL City, haha!!

all the best to your girl in getting that scholarship, that would surely lighten your financial burden.. plus, i guess with the bond, she'd be guaranteed a job later too.. :)

  4. Claire, this needs much thought! I think it should be given to kids who show promise and do not have the money. BUT, then don't kids less smart need college even more? People should not be refused just because of how bright they were born.

  6. I feel that scholarships are to be given to whoever that deserves it. So they just have to study hard lo. Most recipients are often not from wealthy families cos they have spoilt kids. Anyway be patient mummy...she will get it soon.

  14. Needy as in parents earning less than a certain amount of income and with good results. OK to continue applying for scholarships if you don't mind going for more interviews. There are some with bonds (have to work with the company for a few years).
