Some Ipoh Famous Snacks

Festive season or not, I still need to queue up when it comes to buying these snacks in Ming Yue confectionery.  Mooncake season is over and long gone and I thought there would not be a queue but I was wrong.  I think this shop is IN business...

Now I am "smarter".. before I go, I will call them to ask whether the "Groundnut Sweets" (direct translation-Far Sun Tong)  are available or not... otherwise the half hour drive to this place will be worthless... But one has to be patient when ringing them up... sometimes the calls will go unanswered...

Since we have the "urge" of eating these snacks, we took the trouble to come by here and waited... and waited.... for our turn....
When we reached the front line, what we wanted were sold out...
We had to wait for another "batch" to come out...
While waiting for our favourite, we bought these first...
Kaya puffs at 60 sen each... fresh from the oven!
The next batch has arrived..
These are groundnut sweets that is worth waiting for...
Hot and Crunchy!
Supergirl packing for my orders....
Half kilo cost RM11.50
And after all the wait, I ended up buying more than I really wanted to...
That is a very bad habit of mine...
And so ... there it is.... tempting me at every hour...
I think I know why there are always queues for these...
Firstly, they are very fresh and crunchy..
Secondly, they are not sugary sweet...
Thirdly, they have a saltish taste...
In summary... one can get addicted to it easily!

  17. This shop is so laku. Reminds me of Penang's Him Heang where customers beeline till the main road just to buy the biscuits. I like what you posted. Nice to eat with coffee.
