Sovereign Hill In The 1850s

From Lake Wendouree, it was just a few minutes drive to the Sovereign Hill, the highlight of our third day's tour. Aaron told me that this is highly recommended by his friend and true enough, my kids enjoyed themselves here.

Sovereign Hill is a tourist attraction, this place is set up like stepping back in time to the year 1850s. From the hustle and bustle of Main Street where costumed ladies and gents parade their new-found wealth, to the excitement of the Red Hill Gully Diggings where visitors pan for real gold and it's 'finders keepers'!
Our tour guide cum bus driver explaining to us how to go and what to see... :)
At the entrance to the place set in the 1850s...
Like Twilight Zone, going back to the cowboy days!
Heeehawwww.... the carriage is coming.... please step back!
Cowboy town with costumed ladies...
The maiden ladies awaiting....
Inside one of the "shopping shops.... "
 Half modernized Cowboy!
ooppsss...definitely not for girls...
Mr. and Mrs. Walker... cos they walked around, I called them this name... LOL...
Inside one of the country homes....
Soon the school bell rang... it was time to attend lessons!
Classroom and the students in the 1850s....
Student answering a question given by one of the teachers...
My kids were fascinated by these and felt like sitting beside them.... LOL...
It was just like in the movies....

They get to know them better during their "recess time" though...
Cheeky and playful too!
My kids enjoyed coming by this place.. something new to them....
