Sea Bass With Noodles In Kota Damansara

I am not so sure about the name of this place here in Kota Damansara, if not mistaken, it is called Big Family Restaurant. Nowadays most eatery shops are called restaurants. During my younger days, they were called "coffeeshops." Restaurants those days meant "high end food".. fully air conditioned and being served upon.

Okay, coming back to this Big Family restaurant,
(hope the name is right)
we had our breakfast here one fine morning...
My SIL said this is the best stall serving Fish Bass Noodles!
While waiting for our noodles, we savoured on the fresh crispy fried "Ham Chim Piang"
And "Mar Kwok" (Horse Leg)
So crunchy and nice!
Thank goodness the fish noodles came fast..
Otherwise I would have ended up eating lot of fried stuff!
We ordered koayteow with seabass ...
It cost RM22 per bowl!
I made sure that all the flesh are eaten to the brim.... LOL...
Ordered some bouncing balls as side dish too...
Well, I guess everything has gone up these days...
Once awhile, we must treat ourselves to some good food...
I heard there's lots of "Collagen" in the fish skin...  "bite-able" too!
Will I come by here again if I am in KL?
Yes, I will surely....
I like their noodles, almost oil-less and lots of much needed "collagen" too!

  2. Reana, you're back in M'sia! Fish skin?? I'm allergic to fish skin!! I get goose pimples whenever I see them on fillets. Strangely, it's bearable on it's on a whole fish. Hahaha!

  4. tell me this is what fish what fish is a waste of your effort, because all the fish look and taste the same to me (probably i can only differentiate salmon because it's orange in color), haha!! but then RM22 for that bowl of thing, wow, definitely not cheap and of course must sapu it clean until they do not even have to wash the bowl!! hahaha.. i saw on the signboard written they are famous for 龍躉 which is giant grouper, i guess this will be even more expensive than your sea bass huh??

Eh, this coffeeshop (I don't know the name too) I think I been here before, during lunch with a few colleagues around last month.. And yes, 3 bowls of noodles and a plate of fried fishcake cost RM78+.. I was complaining how expensive it was, but thank god, I didn't have to pay, kekekeke..

Wait, other than the noodles, they have fried fishcakes too mou? Are we talking about the same shop sin?

  9. Your bowl of seabass noodles look good. I like to eat food like this but then fish meals are always expensive. Too bad I seldom go to Kota Damansara or else I will surely try this. Thanks for sharing.

Speaking of which even last time I have not seen the word "coffee shop" on the name signboards of coffee shops. Can you spot a name signboard in Ipoh now that has the word "coffee shop" on it? Kopitiam word does not count.

    1. No more, Mun.. all are changed to restaurants... open air restaurants.. no more coffeeshops as before.. unless those old shops in Penang, I have seen one or two authentic ones. :)

    2. But do they actually write the words "coffee shops" on their big sign boards on their shop front - those old shops in Penang?
