At Foh San, Ipoh For A Bite

I think it has been more than a year or two since I last went to Foh San Dim Sum in Ipoh.  Being a local, I don't really go there, I prefer other "Dim Sum" shops than the popular ones.  Having said that, we went there one fine Sunday, joining in the crowd.... all for the love-sake for my girl. :)
The ground floor was crowded.... and we came up...
just nice timing to see one small table for the three of us....
Having sat down, my girl took the card and went to get the food..
Yes, it is self serviced except for some special selection...
She brought back a few items...
All her favourite food... actually....
Steamed Chee Cheong Fun on the outside but crispy fillings on the inside....
 Some sweet desserts....
 Ma Lai Koh...
Char Siew Poh and Sang Yuk Pau... (All meaty dumplings)
Part of the food we ordered...
After that, my turn to take my glutinous chicken rice and fish balls....
After this meal, I think I will refrain from Dim Sum for at least one month  :)

  1. I think I've seen mummy bloggers posting on Foh San dimsum.. Yes, it's crowded, you'd be lucky to get a place.. Hmm, mention about dimsum only, I must have a few things, here goes: siew mai, fried fish balls (read: fried, and not normal steamed "yue mai"), sui kow or prawn dumplings with mayonaise dip, woo-kok, char siew pau, fried carrot cake (chau lobak koh) and lastly, egg tarts.. Ooohh, and a bowl of hamtan-peitan-housi-sauyoke porridge, kekekeke..

  2. I like foh san actually, not because of absolute taste but the myriad choices available, smaller dim sum eateries are unable to provide many types of dainty dim sum dishes :D

    1. But I think the things there are a bit overpriced.. anyway, once awhile, it is good to taste different varieties from different dim sum shops...

  5. I love this shop and I think they have the best Egg Tarts that could beat TongKei chain in KL...
Ipoh has few really excellent Dim Sum shops that could be at par with Hong Kong too!

How many types you took, how much altogether? Just went for dim sum that day - maybe will go again when my girl is home for the holidays...

  10. i have been to Ipoh three times and been to Foh San twice, i think this place is more famous for people who came to Ipoh instead of people living in Ipoh huh?? and yeah, always so crowded and the locals always say there are nicer dimsum elsewhere :p
