The Mystery Disappearance Of Mother's Day Gift

Yesterday morning I received a call from Andy... my heart nearly skipped a beat... normally he will not call me at such an hour... unless.... Mothers are always the worried kind, right? I guess he must be in the office for I could not hear properly what he wanted to say and I quickly walked to a more quiet environment to hear what he said.  At first I misheard that he wanted to resign... I guess I need to go to get my ears checked!

Actual fact - both brothers have ordered a gift hamper for me through Eu Yan Sang online website on 11th May, 2014. They wanted to surprise me with the gift but unfortunately, I did not get the surprise at all.  I did not receive any gift from EYS.  He tracked down the order through online and was shocked that it showed "Failed" though payment has been made. Since he is not in Malaysia, he told me to call up their customer service and followed up with them.

I called up EYS customer service... lady said she would check it out... waited few hours, I called again, she said still checking... I called again in the afternoon, still checking again ...that was when my patience ran out, I asked why they needed 11 days to check out the delivery and why it failed to show even when payment has been made?  Wasn't meant to be sarcastic but I thought I should be given a logic explanation.... By then, I wrote them an email and commented in their FB as well with all the details....

At around 4.30pm, I received a call and was told that the goods would be delivered in the evening... Finally!  Yes, the goods managed to arrive....  I didn't want to ask why the delay.... I guess he would not know what to say....
Two paper bags... three boxes....
What can I say but Thank You...
Mama here really  need these supplements, Sons...
LOL...
Despite the delay, I am touched by both of you...

Now. I am wondering...
IF we did not follow up with the calls and email, will the Gift ever arrive?

But the service is so poor. A surprised from your boys turned out to be some worries for all of you. And you even have to call up the customer services to follow up. On the positive side, luckily your gifts still arrived safely after the complained.

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Phil's Fish Market And Eatery, Moss Landing

DAY TRIP TO MOSS LANDING...  I did not know what to expect since I had not been there before.  We took an hour plus drive to this seafood place, it is an open air restaurant whereby you can dine by the sea or inside.  We chose the latter, since it was quite windy in the open air.  With a baby kid, it is best to have some warmth inside the restaurant. Yes, there was already a queue by the time we reached there, it was actually between lunch and dinner and yet, patrons were ready to have their meal.  Though the queue looked long, we could get a place within 10 minutes or so.   Almost the same picture but someone was looking at me when I took these...  Almost reaching the finishing line to enter ... Clam Chowder to start off...  Cioppino... A combination of seafood... Mussels, prawns, crabs, clams...  Eat what the fishermen eat... Dip the bread in the sauce... Yes, I like this... Fried chicken chunks...  And I still prefer the Cioppino compared to this....  Baby enjoying his own food befo
