Western Cuisine In Marianis At De Gardens, Ipoh

I remember one year ago 2013 I came here on my birthday with my girl... and this year 2014 same month, I am here again for dinner.  That shows how much I love western food... hahaha...... but sometimes I do yearn for it.. once a blue moon... and last evening was a blue moon, I guess... and so here I am again at Marianis for Italian food...
Seated near the bar counter....
Started off with carrot cream soup...
Three mini sizes of toasted aromatic garlic bread....
Followed by Honey Paprika Chicken....

And complete with a piece of cheese cake....
A piece of good news for December month...
All Italian food will have a discount of 50%
from 10pm to midnight...
And that includes Christmas too!
I think it is a good deal.....
And if interested, here is the address....
De Gardens in Ipoh Garden...

Two shots to remember...
Well, if they don't see me in December next month...
They might see me again next year... same month..
This is what I called...
Once-a-year-affair...
hahahaha....

  2. One set of food only? 10pm to midnight - too late for me to eat even though 50% off sounds very attractive. You are looking good!

  3. This looks like a fancy place. The first picture, it is like a trick to the eyes! I cannot tell what it is or the details, like a modern industrial art picture! What are the circles?

  7. My girl loves Italian too but what you all had did not seem like Italian? The garlic bread and the chicken look so so good though I can't say the same about the cake - the bottom edge doesn't look quite regular. I'm no fan of this kind of cheesecakes anyway.

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Phil's Fish Market And Eatery, Moss Landing

DAY TRIP TO MOSS LANDING...  I did not know what to expect since I had not been there before.  We took an hour plus drive to this seafood place, it is an open air restaurant whereby you can dine by the sea or inside.  We chose the latter, since it was quite windy in the open air.  With a baby kid, it is best to have some warmth inside the restaurant. Yes, there was already a queue by the time we reached there, it was actually between lunch and dinner and yet, patrons were ready to have their meal.  Though the queue looked long, we could get a place within 10 minutes or so.   Almost the same picture but someone was looking at me when I took these...  Almost reaching the finishing line to enter ... Clam Chowder to start off...  Cioppino... A combination of seafood... Mussels, prawns, crabs, clams...  Eat what the fishermen eat... Dip the bread in the sauce... Yes, I like this... Fried chicken chunks...  And I still prefer the Cioppino compared to this....  Baby enjoying his own food befo
