Boutique Residence And Trishaw In Penang

We walked around the vicinity where the heritage shophouses are.... Aaron was pretty fascinated with everything here... we ended taking a lot of pictures... almost at every corner, we clicked and clicked.. It was a very sunny Sunday and of all things, I forgot to take my sunglasses and my faithful blue hat!  I have to trot along using the iPad as my shield... oh gosh!

Few steps away from our car park, we "found" this modern trishaw...
.... opposite the trishaw, we found these on the street...
They are for rent.... count by hour...
Heritage houses turn Boutique hotels along Pitt Street....
Worth staying a night?  It might be interesting....
We went in to have a look....
To our astonishment, a swimming pool inside!
And the rooms on top of the stairs....
Just overlooking the swimming pool down the stairs..
Can have a dip if one can't sleep...
Opposite the Boutique Residence...
Along the way, we found this too...
Well, we really thought of cycling around....
But not for this round.......
No sunglasses and shield, my eyes just couldn't open wide!

  1. It's just for the experience, those boutique hotels. For me, if you want proper comfort, still better to go back to those conventional hotels.

  2. Dear Claire, next time remember your sunglasses and shield, it would be fun to go round on a trishaw with your bodyguard cycling and you sit at the back, enjoying the view.

  3. You found lots of fun things for us Claire! Plus a big hidden pool! I wonder why the secret? Maybe they want it all to themselves. You look so cute in that little cart!! I would call it a surrey. We had a popular song called "Surrey with The Fringe On Top" and that is what this is! I can just picture you walking around with your iPad covering your head, ha ha!!

    1. Yes, imagine me walking with iPad as the shield against the sunny sun! It is not a secret pool cos it is for the hotel guests... but I am fascinated all the same..

  4. Yes, love how they've restored and maintained the heritage places in Penang.

Don't like how they do it in Singapore - went too far, so colourful, all the neon lights at night...like children's playground. Not fond of Malacca's too. Best to restore...exactly like how they were before - the colonial architecture has class, no need for much else.

Sad that here, they've demolished all...to make way for the new modern shops and buildings - no character at all. :(

    1. They should maintain the heritage buildings.. it is a shame to pull them down... I feel that there should be a fair share of everything... :)

  5. It is fun to go on a trishaw ride but sad to learn that you have forgotten your sunglasses & shield. I love how they turn the heritage houses into a Boutique hotel. What surprise me is the swimming pool.

  7. I also don't mind boutique hotel if going there for holiday as most of the time, not in the hotel room as will be out jalan jalan unless going there for relaxation and staying inside the hotel most of the time...
