My Nearly Illegal Parking In Penang

Wake up Sleepy Jeans... and for this case, wake up SONS!

It was a bright cheery Sunday morning in Penang when I finally got up to open the curtains in our hotel room...  We are used to staying in Royal Hotel along Anson Road and for 2015, the room rates has indeed increased.  The last time we stayed was in November, it was RM180 then.. but last week, it has gone up to around RM210... hhmmmm..
The scenery from our hotel window...
Bright skies looming above the island...
Time for our breakfast....
But we didn't settle for the hotel buffet...
We set out for hawker delights instead...
While waiting for our Koay Teow Th'ng to arrive, we had these as starters..!

Koay Teow Th'ng off Carnavon Street....
Our usual place... it was crowded..
Didn't mind waiting for awhile...
"Mom, I think I have to order another bowl.... "
And we did.... actually...
Oh dear...
these were only what was left when I realized that I didn't take any pictures...
After our so-called breakfast, we walked a short distance to look for this "auntie:"

My kids love her mini egg tarts....
We bought two packets of 10's... RM5 for each packet...
There were other snacks...
But the mini egg tarts were just what we needed then...
Next... we came by here... for sight seeing...
We thought we got a nice parking at the side of this building...
but were "deterred" .....
We were told to reverse our car out...
And we obediently did....
But all was good after reversing...
We managed to get a parking just across the road...
In the end... All well ends well...

Can't say I like the look...but of course, can't judge by appearance. Must taste, then one will know good or not good. The kway teow th'ng sure looks good, that I would say.

  2. Hmm. Same place with where Merryn got her mini tarts??

Nice breakfast and sight seeing although need to park a bit and walk. I prefer have breakfast in hawkers' stalls than in hotel. Can taste the local food.
