My First Homecooked Oil-less Western Meal In Johor

I AM NOT ONE WHO GIVES UP EASILY when it comes to food... For those outside food which I have not tasted before, I will normally bookmark the place till opportunity arises and we go "surveying" the place... As for homecooked food, I might not be as "hardworking" but I will want to do some trial and error as to why the food does not turn out as expected...

For this case, it is not so much on the food but the Amway pan which I bought ten years ago but never used in Ipoh... and only started utilizing it in Johor... And each time I fry fish, they ended up broken in pieces in the pan.  I was very puzzled and did some research on youtube on the pan.  And after that, I wanted to try again, this time doing Their Way....
To kill my curiosity, I went to get three pieces of breast meat to "practise on" ...
And a piece of Salmon for my girl...
Marinated them with lemon zest, garlic, pepper and rosemary, salt for a few hours...
And now the ultimate move....
Heat up the pan in high heat, test the heat with a drop of water, if it dries up fast, it is ready!
I put my chicken breast meat into the pan...
Lower the fire....
Lay them out... NO OIL added....
Closed the lid and let them cook for five minutes..
The excitement came when I turned them over....
Hey... No Sticking to the Pan!!
Then after the chicken are cooked, I put in the Salmon!
This is the tricky part...
To my amazement, the fish did not stick to the pan either!
All these time, NO OIL added....
Just look at the Salmon for my girl....
Not "broken" in any way.. not in my previous post!
And my piece of protein for myself.....
Ahhhh... this is more "complete"....
My first western food cooked in Johor!
No sticky sticky to the pan, I think I know how to use it now...
It is more for grilling... not frying....
Still have room for more improvement here and there....
Now I know how to use the pan... a more healthy way too...
No OIL....
And to complete our meal, we shared a piece of Mocca Cheese....
Moral of the story:  Never give up cooking!
It is actually very interesting!
hahahahaa....

Mini Birthday Celebration At August Healing, Ipoh

GETTING HEALED AGAIN... this time four of us went to August Healing for other sweet and savoury delights.  This time when we went up to the little cafe, the tables were all occupied except for one.  Next time we must not go during lunch time.  Mistake....  Anyway, we managed to get a table near the window while waiting for another two of my friends to arrive.  First time visit for them and I hope they like the food there as much as I like them.  We ordered three different varieties to share as we had a heavy breakfast in the morning....  Which shall I choose? Berries bread pudding today....  Forgot what this is called....  Garlic honey scones...  Coffee for my friends.... As for me, I had Chamomile tea....  We ordered one croissant to share.... Smoked duck and omelette fillings... Full to the brim... RM15....  Quiche again.... different fillings this time... RM15 And a Happy Birthday piece of cheese cake... RM14.. Though just a few varieties, we were very full.... For dinner, I just ha

Two Dishes One Soup Dinner

AUNTIE'S SIMPLE COOKING... for dinner on one evening.... Defrosted a piece of cod, my last piece in the freezer besides another few more pieces of other types of fish.  I think I consume the most fish this year, never bought so many types of fish before.  Maybe it is made easier for me this year cos of the online shopping at Gracious, cleaned, vacuumed and free delivery above RM50.   My last piece of cod.... A plate of greens called Yau Mak...  Not so sure what it is called in English And chicken herbal soup....  My complete meal for one evening....  As usual, I do not take much rice... Or perhaps I did not take rice at all for this meal....  LOL...

Freshly Baked With Love From Breadlady

BUNS AND PIES... freshly baked with Love.... printed on a brown paper bag, delivered by her handsome son right to my doorstep!  LOL.... Saw it on Facebook, one of my friends put up the fresh curry buns she ordered.  Yours truly saw and salivated and the next thing, I have the details I needed.  During the weekdays, the Breadlady has different kinds of buns and on Saturdays, she makes shepherd pies.  Since I got the details on Friday, I quickly messaged her and ordered 5 packets!  No, I did not eat them all, I ordered for my friends too, they have the same common interest as I do.  LOL...  ' Each set of shepherd pie comes with 2 fresh buns costing RM15.   I like her packing.... Brown paper bag with this slogan... Freshly baked with love...  The pies were still warm when they were delivered to right to  my doorstep with no extra charge... So nice! This was my lunch on Saturday.... I like the buns too...fresh and soft... One is filled with cranberries and apple.. And the other one is
