Sweet Tempations At New World, Penang

AFTER OUR SANGKAYA ICE CREAM, we proceeded to another place for desserts and other food delights. It has been some time since we last ate in New World. Nothing has changed, the stalls are still there but there is one particular stall which has changed owners or should I say, changed Chef?
I was looking forward to eating Pasembur from a stall near to the one entrance.  The previous time I ate, the stall was manned by an Indian lady and assisted by a Caucasian or "Orang Puteh".  I remember that very well because the Pasembur was very nice especially the sauce.  I told Aaron to order from that stall but he told me there was no more Caucasian and Indian lady there, instead both are Indian men.... well, anyway, just order and eat though the sauce and the fillings are different from then and now....

There is only one stall which manages all the drinks....
And we ordered Chendol with lots of red beans...
And a glass of "L" size dragon fruit juice...
Plus some tropical fruits...
My kids love these pancakes...
This one is filled with durian!! OH my Goodness!
And this one needs no introduction.....
Oh yes, this is not to be missed!
Tee Kueh???
That was about all.... our teatime for the day!
Yes, again we have to save some space for Dinner!!

  3. I love New World!!! I love the pasembur, different from all the rest, and very very nice. I love the cendol too! Eugene said two were sent to represent Penang at an international food fair - this one and that one where you would have to stand in a long queue in the sun. I would much sooner go for this one than be ill-treated like that.

The char kway teow was nice too, the Penang otak-otak as well...and the chee chong fun with rojak sauce...and there was a nyonya food stall the first time I went, did not get to see it anymore after that. The pulut hitam was out of this world!!! So many things to eat and enjoy there, no need to go anywhere else...and a thousand million times better than that tourist trap, Gurney Drive. Tsk! Tsk!
