We The Tourists At Jonkers Street, Malacca

ON THE FIFTH DAY OF CHINESE NEW YEAR, we went for a one night stay in the historical town, Malacca!  The traffic was pretty smooth on the highway but once we reached the Malacca toll, the road leading to town was all pretty jam up with tourists... And we made the mistake of going straight to Jonkers Street for our lunch of all the places....
We got down from our cars while the drivers went looking for parking.... 
So many tourists like us....
And the cars were moving at a very slow pace...
Probably all were looking for car park....
Right in the middle of the Jonkers...
People here and everywhere... 
I thought this was an eatery place... but more on desserts and souvenirs...
My girl has to queue up next door instead.... 
While queuing up, this attracted my eyes....
Eat while they are hot....
As for our lunch, never go on a crowded day....
Don't mind the presentation....
Eat just to fill our tummies... 
20 Chicken Balls....
And our lunch for seven people cost RM102....

My tired and exhausting look... 
Can't wait to check in to the hotel and ...............  
RELAX......

  3. Long time I didn't eat Putu Piring. Dishes looks good & instead of chicken rice ball, I prefer the loose rice.

  4. i would definitely avoid Malacca especially during holidays, it is guaranteed to be packed with tourists, haha!! and i have no idea why, it's always hotter there, do you think so?? ah, you had putu piring and the famous chicken rice balls, but 7 of you only shared 20 chicken rice balls?? mana ada cukup?? i thot one person eats 5 at least..

  5. If I ever want to visit Jonkers street, I better remember to go on normal working days. Wouldn't want to be caught in traffic jam.

I went Jonker once to buy the nyonya chang some people blogged about - went round and round and round so many times in search of the shop and the woman was so snooty like hers were the best in the world, not friendly at all...and the chang were just so-so only - much nicer ones in Kuching...from much nicer people.

  9. Lastime b4 trying chicken rice balls, I very harap can try.. Then when I tried it at Jonker Street, I still prefer the normal chicken rice (served on a plate), coz the balls type are a bit sticy, and I think they add water to be able to roll it with hands.. I can imagine eating people's "daki" on the balls, coz they roll by hands, haha..

  14. I realised after reading this post that Penang and Melaka have so much similarities! Good food, bad traffic jams and lots of Hokkien lang! Muahahaha
    I love going to Melaka always.
