Foodie Explorers Strike Gopeng

IT WAS AN UNPLANNED TRIP THIS MORNING... I was thinking that I would have to "feed myself" today, no more outing as we did not plan anything the day before.

Was wondering what to eat for lunch when suddenly I heard "Ting" on the whatsApp... it was around 11am when the good news came... "Who wants to go Gopeng cos I need to do something there".... Quickly I put up the "hands up" icon in the apps... hahahahaha...

And around 12 noon, I was picked up again and off we went to Gopeng, a half an hour drive from my house...

Retired Foodie Explorers Strikes to Gopeng....
We were aiming for this stall....
Heard that this stall has been operating for years...
From father to son and now the son is almost 70 I guess....
Both brother and sister are manning the stall...
Opens at 11 something... and sold out by 1pm!
We were kind of blessed... w
When we reached, he told my friend it was all finished..
Then suddenly he asked us how many bowls of porridge we wanted...
He must have done some "magic" and soon....
.....The food appeared on our table....
His special porridge.. it might be plain but the cooked with chicken broth...
*I suspected la....*
Wahhhhh... just look at this!!
The taste and all really reminded me of my childhood "steamed chicken"
Really Authentic la!!
We ordered two bowls of porridge and the chicken...
He only collected RM15 from us...
We gave a WAHHH.... expression!
We also tried other stalls.... such as the Gopeng noodles....
With their signature "Fish Cake".... RM4.50
And not to be left out...
LAKSA!!
With some mighty balls... RM5
And I am blessed with the last bowl of Gingko Barley Fuchuk.... RM2...
Oh my Food!!
I mean OUR FOOD!
And....
My Foodie Gang strikes again!

  2. You're on a food tour of the whole of Perak, is it? Aiyor...the porridge bowl so badly chipped already, shouldn't use anymore. I have steamed chicken too in my blogpost today, corn-fed, yellow colour. Nice!!! So tasty.

  5. I love porridge especially during this hot weather. The chicken portion is huge. All these for only RM15. That's a good deal.

  7. Is the signature "Fish Cake" a vegetarian fish cake? It looks quite unlike the normal fish cake.
