First Time To Pomelo Plantation At Tambun

IT WAS AN UNPLANNED OUTING TO THE POMELO FARM... I took my friend for a meal in Gunong Rapat, it was around 3pm, too late to have lunch and too early for dinner.  Anyway, we had something light, some fish balls with vegetables and cooling cincau drinks.  Ooopsss.. no food pictures in this post... cos it is not about food but pomeloes!

After our light lunch, I took a drive with my friend, turning right at a traffic light to Ampang new village, this time exploring it on my own.  I was shown once by my foodie friends recently and I am glad that I could find my way to where the pomelo plantations are.  Actually it was quite easy... there are two ways to go in, one from Ampang N/V and another way from Tambun, the road just next to the police station.

For the first time in history, I made a stop at this Go Chin Pomelo Nature Park where the pomeloes are planted.
Giant Pomeloes on the wall.....

See what I mean?
Beside the signboard, the shop displaying the fruits.....
But unfortunately this is not the pomelo season yet....
Thus the fruits are a bit expensive now....
We asked for permission to go into the nature park...
The staff gladly approved and showed us the way in...
For plant lovers, this is the place to linger awhile longer.....
As for me, I just took a few pictures on the left....
And on my right.... fruits were still bearing...
This is a pomelo tree...
Indeed it is not the season as yet....
There are some in the process of ripening, I guess....
Hang-me-down.....
One to show that I touched the pomeloes for the first time...
Before we left, we bought something...
Not pomeloes but Peanuts!!
No kidding....
.
GOCHIN In Tambun, we will see you again next time!!

  6. No venture into food but instead fruits. I like pameloes with sweet sour taste & flesh is reddish in colour than the transparent white colour flesh. Nice outing.

  9. This post brings me memories when I made my first trip to see pomelo trees when I was a small kid. I enjoyed running all over the farm and got lost.
These days visitors to KL often brought me pomeloes!! I feel so blessed.

  10. I had a tree in our garden during my growing up years. Don't think I've seen any these days - everyone's house compounds now are too small to grow much stuff.
