Birthday Celebration At East Ocean, Menglembu

SOMEHOW THIS POST SLIPPED THROUGH MY FINGERS... cos this birthday happened before the previous one on promotion.

With the group apps, it is so much easier to plan and update one another.  During my yesteryears, how did we contact one another to celebrate something?  I think it is through word by mouth or the black phone in the house.  But then not everyone has a black phone in the house those days.  I am talking about the years back in the 70s.... hahahahaa...  Ok, never mind the past... it happened so long ago and I could not remember much at my age now.

Coming back to my topic, the eight of us met up in East Ocean Restaurant in Menglembu to celebrate one of my ex-classmates' birthday.  One by one each of us have reached one digit higher than the rest though we were born of the same year.  Mine is still a couple of months away... *hint hint* No worries, by the time it is my turn, I will yell out LOUD!
Started off with a bowl of soup minus the shark fins...
Instead they put in misua to replace...
Very tasty surprisingly!
This one came in first.... I remember cos it is my favourite dish...
Steamed Yam with dried shrimps as toppings!
Then all the dishes came in at one shot...
Garoupa in spring onions and ginger...
Kailan with the soft type of fungus...
Mixed vegetables...
Well, I guess we are pretty conscious on our food... mostly veg!
Followed by Buttered Prawns in curry leaves...
And lastly, Lemon Fried chicken...
For desserts, we have their signature pudding... RM3 each...

We had two types of Cakes....
The Yam Cake ...
And the Buttered Cup Cakes by Nancy Chong... each cost RM3 for a mini-sized cup...
And that is our Birthday Girl for the evening....
So... who will be the Next one in line?
September is coming soon!
Oh, about the bill, it came to around RM300 over...

  3. A nice gatherinv and birthday celebration.

Remember the black phone where you need to use your finger to turn and dial the number. Remember we used it before switching to the button pressing type.

Nowadays everyone has handphone. The house phone is not much use at all. Jusr apply to get internet line only. ^^

  8. Is mock shark fin soup common these days?

Are cakes generally of good quality esp the chocolate cake or brownies in coffee shops or eateries (except high-end eateries) in Malaysia?

Cakes are generally of poor quality in Turkey. Their chocolate cake and chocolate desserts have a low cocoa butter content. Usually, the cakes are layered with thick lashings of cream; vegetable based ???? but definitely not butter cream. I don't know about five stars hotels and foreign ??? owned (not Starbucks) eateries in Istanbul. In the supermarkets including corner shops, there are different types of premix for puddings and cakes.

    1. Yes, shark fins are not encouraged nowadays... so they replace with other creativity... Cakes here depends on which shops.. the ones that I normally love to order is Nancy Chong, famous since the 1960s...

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

The Good, The Bad But Not Ugly

MISSING AND NOW BACK IN ACTION...  I checked back my last post and it was 8 March last month and today is 19 April, less than two months only.  So what has been happening in my life?  Lots and lots... good news, bad news, sad news... all concerning health and I guess this is our life cycle as we live day by day.   My health is also not that "fantastic" during the past few months, but mine is a small rock compared to giant boulder which my best buddy is undergoing... I guess some of you know what is happening to her from her blog posts.  I was totally devastated when this happened to her, my tears couldn't help falling and my heart goes out to her.  I am ashamed to say that instead of me giving the comfort that she needs, I am the one that have been receiving her strength in times like this.  She might be crushed physically but she is not broken in her spiritual mind and soul.  One word... "Unbreakable!"  She is a shining example..... "What can death do to m

Exploring The Sea Cruise Royal Caribbean

CRUISING ALONG.... Once we deposited our bags in our cabins, we had our buffet meal at the Hammerjack restaurant and exactly at 4pm, we heard a loud Horn signal...  ITS TIME TO SAIL ALONG THE PACIFIC OCEAN! And while the ship started to sail, we humans started to walk and explore.... to familarize ourselves inside the ship....  Elevators on each side of the ship....  Making my mark....  On another side....  We walked along to check out our food outlets... This Promenade Cafe  had became our regular joint .... We like to sit there enjoying our hot drinks and desserts... Free flow of food day and night.... Passing through the bars to the casino... The casino will open only when the ship is in international waters...  At one of the jackpot machines... I wonder if they are real?? But they are only $1 bundles... Then we went up to the highest floor.... The swimming deck.... Taken against the sun.... Nice sunset in the evening.... The Happy Trio!
