Kristal Jade In Gopeng

WHEN A GUEST CAME TO TOWN, my mind would be wondering where to go for our meals... If it is within Ipoh, there would not be a problem.  But if we want to go out of the way for special food, then I would Message SOS to my friends!  And that was exactly what I did when we thought of taking dinner a bit further from Ipoh... this time we wanted to go to Gopeng for dinner.  And the last time I went to this shop called Kristal Jade, I was still holding my walking stick.  LOL....

My couple friends readily agreed to my suggestion when I told them about the dinner in Gopeng.  And not only that, they came all the way from their house which is 20 minutes drive and fetched us to go Gopeng which is another half an hour away, depending on the traffic.  By the time we reached Kristal Jade, it was almost 7.45pm....just nice for our tummies to be growling with hunger and each and every dish, we salivated over it!
This is the shop... Kristal Jade in Gopeng...
Oh, the boss personally came and served us cos he knows my friend.
and he recommended the following dishes for the four of us.....
As appetizers, this came out first...
It is a cold dish and they do not have this every day....
Pork belly with hidden jelly fungus beneath...
The meat was tender.... the skin was springy...
Together it goes into the mouth...
hmmmm.....
Wo..wo.. yae yae... what more I can say?
Oh wait... We must dip it into these special sauce...
Ok, now have to sing again...
Wo Wo Yae Yae... I love you more than I can say...
LOL...

For bitter gourd lovers, this vegetable blends well with some chunks of fish....
The sauce itself goes very well with our white rice....
Meat again... this time with the Braised Yam...
Must-not-miss-dish!
Another appetizing dish that goes very well with our plate of rice...
Rice, Rice, I simply love Rice!
Oh yes, another green dish... four greens in fact...
Long beans, 4 angle beans, okra and stinky beans aka petai!
Yes, they do blend well together....
Our scrumptious meal for the four of us...
As for the cost, it came to around RM70 with drinks....
Many thanks to my friends who gave this treat...
I sing this again....
Wo Wo Yae Yae...
THANK YOU is what I Love to Say!!

  2. Such yummy food. I'm not into pork belly but I will be happy to eat the lean meat. Worth getting stuck in the traffic.

  8. I have passed this restaurant many times and had no idea they serve such delicious food like the cold meat. It reminds me of the old weddings during the 70s and 80s when they served this in the 4 seasons dish. I like!! I will croon like Leo Sayer too!
