A Indian Chinese Cuisine At Spice Kitchen, Johor

WE LEFT MARINA BAY SANDS AROUND 6.30PM, wrong move.... To avoid causeway jam, either we have to leave around 3-4pm, (which is rather early) or leave Singapore at 10pm (which is way too late).  We did not pick any of the two options and that was why we got stuck in the Singapore causeway for some time.  Everyone seems to be going to JB during that moment... perhaps for dinner cum shopping?

Anyway, by the time we checked in for our dinner at Spice Kitchen, it was almost 8pm plus.  The four of us were very hungry by then.  Even the cups of coffee and hot soyabean from the casino have long gone by then.  Andy recommended Indian-Chinese food, he said they were good and he was indeed right!  The place was really crowded by the time we entered the premise.

Another wrong move again.  We did not expect to wait for an hour for our dinner to be served.... our batteries by then were almost flat and out.  Learn a lesson, if too hungry, better not check in to restaurants which are crowded, one has to undergo Drooling and Salivating, our patience had almost run out by then...
Waiting to be seated upon entering the Spice Kitchen....
Battery still running "OK" at this moment....
The crowd around us... all waiting to be served...
Started off with an appetizer... Crispy fried Cauliflower ...
Garlic Naan...
 Mutton Curry...
Creamy Chicken Curry
Oh dear, I simplified all the names...
Just couldn't recall what they were called...
Anyway, this was our dinner for that evening...
We were quite disappointed though...
Waited for an hour and the two curries were just lukewarm...
Well, perhaps we were too hungry that we over-expected...
Maybe next time we will go again...
But not on a weekend, that is for sure!
As for the bill it came to around RM60 plus...
Not too bad but not too good either...
LOL...

  1. I think the Creamy Chicken Curry would be their butter curry chicken. I love that!!! I love their cauliflower, very nice. In fact, I love Indian cuisine...anytime more than many of the rest. Waited an hour??? Aiyorrrrrr!!! How to do business like that? Come, come to Sibu - I take you to the one here, authentic North Indian chef, VERY VERY nice!!!

  2. I also dislike going to a restaurant when it is super crowded. The food looks good though not as how you expected. Maybe next visit will be better.

  4. If I am hungry and had to wait one hour for the food, I will be starving. Food looks good. I like to eat naan and mutton curry.

  5. The cauliflower does look very good! This place must have great food, because of so many customers. Maybe this time they just could not keep up with the crowd.

  7. Oh dear. I feel you. I hate waiting for so long for food when I were damn hungry. Moody and restless. Haha.

Such pity the food did not up to your standard. Maybe too hungry so expect the food is worth the long wsit and agony.
