Double Booking With Resort World And First World Hotel, Gentings

MY FIRST BLUNDER WITH ONLINE BOOKING!

My sisters and I went to the Genting office in Ipoh to book a room but unfortunately, the rooms were fully booked.  In the office itself, I logged in to my usual booking.com to check using my iPhone and to our delight, there were available rooms in Resorts Hotel.  Quickly I clicked reserve and keyed in my particulars.  Settled within minutes... it cost RM560 for 2 nights...

Out of curiosity, I keyed in First World Hotel for the same dates.  Oh, got rooms too and it cost only RM196 for 2 nights... a huge difference from Resorts Hotel which cost RM560!  Being fast and furious, I clicked reserved too.... thought I was very smart!  Instead of one room, I booked two rooms and I thought I could cancel one after that.  But No, I couldn't cos after reaching home, the screen was big enough for me to read the fine print there... NON-REFUNDABLE...

OH.. OH... instead of getting a cheap room, I ended up paying RM760.... and quickly our three minds went into action....Two options, one is to find another two or three persons to go with us or I have to stand at the Hotel Counter to sell one of my rooms.  LOL...

To end my post story, instead of going to Gentings in threes, we ended up in sixes... three to a room and we stayed there for two nights happily ever after!  LOL...

Took off from Ipoh by van at around 8.30am and reached the Resorts World Hotel before noon...
Didn't realize my picture being taken while registering at the counter...

My Camera Friend who took my picture without me knowing...
Upon checking in, we had a light lunch with all "food package" from IPOH!
Tuna and egg sandwiches, Nasi Lemak and Nasi Kerabu...
And of course, we three youngsters stayed in First World Hotel which is 15 minutes away...
We have to go down six escalators and walked a bit to reach First World....
Not too bad... One Queen Bed and One Single for the three of us young ladies!
I did not have to waste one hotel room after all!!

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Phil's Fish Market And Eatery, Moss Landing

DAY TRIP TO MOSS LANDING...  I did not know what to expect since I had not been there before.  We took an hour plus drive to this seafood place, it is an open air restaurant whereby you can dine by the sea or inside.  We chose the latter, since it was quite windy in the open air.  With a baby kid, it is best to have some warmth inside the restaurant. Yes, there was already a queue by the time we reached there, it was actually between lunch and dinner and yet, patrons were ready to have their meal.  Though the queue looked long, we could get a place within 10 minutes or so.   Almost the same picture but someone was looking at me when I took these...  Almost reaching the finishing line to enter ... Clam Chowder to start off...  Cioppino... A combination of seafood... Mussels, prawns, crabs, clams...  Eat what the fishermen eat... Dip the bread in the sauce... Yes, I like this... Fried chicken chunks...  And I still prefer the Cioppino compared to this....  Baby enjoying his own food befo
