Malaysian Flavours With Uncle Pou Wok, Johor

WE RESTED FOR A COUPLE OF HOURS after our return from our one day trip in Singapore... *let the driver rest first* ... then only we went out for a simple dinner at Uncle Pou Wok.  Using Waze, we managed to find the place, actually it was our second time there, the first time was a two years back.  Upon reaching, the place was pretty crowded and we had to sit on the parking bay outside the shop.  Actually I rather sit inside the shop, away from the pollution... *kiasu mode*.... Ok, let's not be so particular....
Pou Wok is famous for their Hokkien Noodles aka Tai Lok Mee...
A very Lardy Dish!
Salted Egg Bitter Gourd....
Braised Yong Tow Foo...
And a Small Size Yue Tau Lou aka "Fish Head Soup" with lots of goodies inside...
Food for four....
See... we were "parked" on the road... haizzz....
This is Malaysian Flavours!

  2. I wouldn't want to go for steamboat in an non-air conditioned place...unless it is in the Cameron Highlands. So hot here!

    1. It is not really steamboat... just a hot pot soup... nothing added individually..

  3. Quite normal right for some restaurants to put their tables outside on the pavement to accommodate more customers. I would be sweating buckets sitting outside eating steamboat.

  6. I prefer air con place. If sitting outside without air con or fan, I will have to take a big handkerchief to wipe my sweat. Or else the sweat will add flavour to the food! Ha ha.

  7. I would not mind eating outside but then again, pollution is the concern.

Hokkien noodle. My least favourite because it is a messy noodle to take. The black sauce and mess. Haha. Reminded me of my Jay. He is a messy eater and one night he had Hokkien noodle. Black mess all over his mouth. Haha.

  8. This Salted Egg Bitter Gourd is such a unique dish and I would love it.
I always have to eat my Hokkien Noodle fix at KL's best shop in Damansara Utama. Eat now and worry later is my style.
