Dinner For Three At Hook Sang, Bukit Indah, Johor

MY LONGEST STAY IN JOHOR this time ever.... almost a month.  It is like being "alienated" from Ipoh, driving will take six hours and flight will take more than an hour.  But nowadays only Malindo is flying from JB to Ipoh, their prices are expensive ranging from RM200 over.  That means I have to stay here longer to make my money's worth.  LOL...

On evenings when the kitchen is closed, I go out with my kids for dinner nearby our place.  Most of the time when we eat out, it is normally on Fridays and weekends.  On normal days I will cook a simple meal for ourselves.  One of the food places I like to go is Hook Sang which is very near to our little nest. But lately I heard that the food prices have increased... two reasons... 1) our country's economy and 2) our neighbours who boost up the economy... Get what I mean?  LOL...
The place was quite crowded especially on Fridays...
The four king beans....
Something juicy with this dish called Beer Ribs...
With a dash of sesame seeds... yes, I like it.. soft bones and the sweet sauce..
Couldn't resist these prawn fritters in salted egg... but super expensive...
For just a few pieces, it cost RM30...
We also ordered a small portion of Hokkien noodles...
ahhh.. this one cannot be compared to another shop...
The noodles were very rubbery... maybe not cooked enough...

But this combination is fantastic!
We love this....
For the above dishes plus the prawns and hokkien noodles,
the bill came to a whooping RM77...
Ok, expensive or not, next time we better "minus" the prawns... LOL...

  1. Wow! How did you survive well for a month there without your Ipoh gangs around? I think Rm200+ for the air ticket is still affordable as the quality family bonding is priceless. JB has many good eating places but the prices are meant for Singaporeans.

    1. You are very right! Somehow we malaysians have to survive over there... instead of three meals, cut down to two or one and a half...:)

  10. The Wan Tan Hor looks very flavourful with the charcoal colour and yes prawns are expensive, the salted egg prawns I had at Nan Hwa Chong (Ah Chew) Fish Head Steamboat Corner cost S$15.
