Come Home Love 愛·回家 For Homecooked Food

DURING THE LONG WEEKEND JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO, one of my "old time buddies" told us that she would be dropping by to Ipoh for a couple of hours to have breakfast with the three of us.  We are the "Empat Sekawan" from our old school days, so we called ourselves that till today. LOL...  We love having her coming by to Ipoh, with her means Food and more Foodventures!   That was why we were at our wits' end thinking of what and where to bring her for food in Ipoh.  Everywhere in town seems to be either crowded and commercialized during the Raya holidays.

Anyway, back to my post, she was supposed to reach Ipoh at 10am but due to "expected" traffic jam from KL, she only reached Ipoh around 12.30pm instead.  Not surprising for everyone seems to be coming to Ipoh or going up north during the weekend.  In that few hours, the three of us scratched our head... I even messaged my "foodie colleagues" on where to eat...and I am so glad when one of them suggested this place to us.

Firstly, this place is nearby to our place and secondly, it is homecooked food.  Thirdly, it is still new and not many people knows about it....as yet.  *After this post, there might be changes*  LOL...
This place is called Come Home Love....
Hongkong drama series fans should be familiar with this name....
It is actually a Homestay place...
At the entrance, they served homecooked food...
This is the first time we come by here...
Very homely styled....
Proof shown here...
Auntie cutting up the garlic and dicing them instead of going into the blender....
Very meticulous work indeed!
The tables and chairs all neat and clean with a homely feel....
And best thing is .. no crowd... Great!
Part of the menu... Prices are quite reasonable..
We wanted to eat almost everything!
Ginger meat balls... with lots of ginger inside...
Very authentic dish... we love!
Salted fish with meat... *far larm*
So appetizing!
Steamed chicken with black fungus....
Steamed brinjal... just the way my mom used to do last time!
Bitter gourd with chicken...
Steamed Patin Fish....
Fresh and Good!
They are very generous with the garlic and garnishing...
Rating?  The empty plates are the tell-tale signs... LOL...
And the total bill for five persons plus drinks came to RM107.
Yes, we must go there again...
COME HOME LOVE!

  2. I love the front yard, very unique, very nice. Food sure does not look like simple home-cooked. Looking at the title, I thought initially that you were going to cook for your friend. :D

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Phil's Fish Market And Eatery, Moss Landing

DAY TRIP TO MOSS LANDING...  I did not know what to expect since I had not been there before.  We took an hour plus drive to this seafood place, it is an open air restaurant whereby you can dine by the sea or inside.  We chose the latter, since it was quite windy in the open air.  With a baby kid, it is best to have some warmth inside the restaurant. Yes, there was already a queue by the time we reached there, it was actually between lunch and dinner and yet, patrons were ready to have their meal.  Though the queue looked long, we could get a place within 10 minutes or so.   Almost the same picture but someone was looking at me when I took these...  Almost reaching the finishing line to enter ... Clam Chowder to start off...  Cioppino... A combination of seafood... Mussels, prawns, crabs, clams...  Eat what the fishermen eat... Dip the bread in the sauce... Yes, I like this... Fried chicken chunks...  And I still prefer the Cioppino compared to this....  Baby enjoying his own food befo
