Ladies' Day Out To Bukit Tambun

A LONG WEEKEND HOLIDAY, FOUR WHOLE DAYS!!  This year the Hari Raya falls on Sunday and therefore, there is a four days holiday altogether for the working people.  How nice for them all... everyone takes this long weekend to go back to their hometowns to celebrate this festive season while many others take this opportunity to go visiting to other states or overseas.  As for me, I stayed at home during the long weekend, be a good girl until today, Tuesday, it is time for a Get-Together with my old buddies!

A day before, messages through whatsapps were busy ding-donging here and there... plans were being finalized on where to go... First option was Gentings Premium Outlet and second choice is Bukit Tambun.  After some discussion, we opted for the latter... Bukit Tambun for Food is the better choice than shopping.  The shopping will  have to be put on hold because of the traffic jam at Gentings!

This morning as planned, my friends gathered at my house and from here, we seated ourselves comfortably and off we went.... Ladies' Day Out To The North!
Happily we set out... YAY!!!
Weather was beautiful....
With us ladies talking non-stop in the car,
we reached our destination in no time!
From Ipoh to Bukit Tambun, it takes around 1 hour plus....
It has been more than 10 years since I last came here...
Or was it 20 years????
I cannot recall at all.... it must be many years ago....
We parked our car here...
Our Lady Boss knows the way very well..
She said this place is the Best!
And so here we are....
We were the early birds though it was already noon...
Quite empty at the moment... but by the time we finished our lunch,
the place was packed to the brim!
Fishing boats can be seen just next to the floating restaurant...
I think the fishermen were on "holiday" too...
By then the four of us were really hungry...
Only disappointment is that...the crabs were on "holiday" too....
We have to forego that...
Seated comfortably under the cooling fan....
My ex-colleagues... from the young to the senior... LOL...
Our appetizer came out first....
How to eat this?
Gross?
No way, just put it into our mouths... Fear Factor challenge!
Steamed Clams in lime sauce... yummy!
Fried oyster with eggs...
Potato leaves in sambal sauce.... very tasty....
And the steamed Garoupa..
Meaty and fresh....
And the total bill came to RM148 with rice and a jug of cooling drinks...
After filling our stomach, it is time to go for a stroll under the hot sun....
*Burn off the calories*
We ventured into the narrow lane and "surveyed" this little town....

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Phil's Fish Market And Eatery, Moss Landing

DAY TRIP TO MOSS LANDING...  I did not know what to expect since I had not been there before.  We took an hour plus drive to this seafood place, it is an open air restaurant whereby you can dine by the sea or inside.  We chose the latter, since it was quite windy in the open air.  With a baby kid, it is best to have some warmth inside the restaurant. Yes, there was already a queue by the time we reached there, it was actually between lunch and dinner and yet, patrons were ready to have their meal.  Though the queue looked long, we could get a place within 10 minutes or so.   Almost the same picture but someone was looking at me when I took these...  Almost reaching the finishing line to enter ... Clam Chowder to start off...  Cioppino... A combination of seafood... Mussels, prawns, crabs, clams...  Eat what the fishermen eat... Dip the bread in the sauce... Yes, I like this... Fried chicken chunks...  And I still prefer the Cioppino compared to this....  Baby enjoying his own food befo
