Family Pre-Reunion Lunch At Yishensu Restaurant, Ipoh

GET-TOGETHER REUNION LUNCH...

It is a good idea to get together whenever we can, not just during the Chinese New Year eve... Whenever the opportunity arises, we siblings meet up for a meal before we depart our separate ways... Our late parents are not around anymore, we lead our own separate lives with our families and in-laws.

Since we will be eating together for this coming CNY reunion dinner, we got together last week to have a nice vegetarian lunch and fellowship with one another.  It is one of the rare moments we have together as a family.  Thanks to our parents' upbringing... we have a strong bonding with one another...

As for the dishes in Yishensu Restaurant, they were nice but a bit too sweet for us...

Yam with assorted nuts and vegetables...
Mixed vegetarians with fermented beancurd...
This dish was finished in no time and we ordered the same dish again...
Their signature beancurd...
This is supposed to be Mutton Curry.. vegetarian style...
Buns with "BBQ pork" vegetarian style...
A bit too sweet for us...
All these dishes came to around RM170 including brown rice and drinks....
My Dear Ones...
Missing you, M!

  1. The barbecue sandwiches look really good! The first dish is interesting, some kind of edible container. So all of these are your siblings? You are blessed to have so many!!

  2. I have seen this YiShenSu Vegetarian Restaurant at One Utama but have not eaten there. I like the look of the beancurd dish. Don't like those too sweet dishes that you have described.

My Failed Project In Baking Mini Egg Cakes

FAILED THIS TIME..... I don't know why, I follow exactly the ingredients and the method written in her website but it was not successful.  Something went wrong somewhere but I don't think I want to try it again.  This recipe is called Mini Egg Cake which is supposed to be soft, airy, light sponge cake but the way I made them, they turned out hard and crusty cake.   If I try again one day, I will half the portion... cos I like to eat these traditional egg cakes.... The Ingredients...  No point putting the recipe here since I failed..  LOL...  The portions of this recipe....  It looked very promising when I put them into the oven.... Even when they were in the baking process... they look good, aren't they? LOL...  I was so happy just by looking at the mini egg cakes in the tray....  And after they were let out... my heart sank....  The minute I took them out from the tray, I knew... Hard at the top...  Tak Jadi = Failed.... Now come to t

Our Orders From Afghanistan, Spanish And Australia

My Final post on the Food Festival in the Victoria Market on Wednesday night.... The atmosphere at the market was "enhanced" by the cheerful songs and music by a group band... It was indeed a merry evening filled with music-licous folk songs in the air... . Ok, how to find four seats in this crowd.... hmmmm....... Somehow we managed to... and these were what my boys brought back to our table.... Mexican rice with oysters... or is it Spanish rice?   Both are the same, I guess... LOL.... Afghanistan Food.... chunks of chicken meat with naan.... Brazilian food.... don't ask me what it is.... I just ate what was on the table....  But I am amazed by this giant burger....  ..... and what burger is this? They told me it is Crocodile Tail Burger! Meat from the crocodile tail?  Is it just a name or what... I really don't know... Took a few bites of it... and I am full!! Well, these were the food we

Home Cooked Dishes

NOT MUCH HAPPENING... and lazy too.... My neighbour gave me half pumpkin and I have been keeping it for a couple of days before I finally decide what to do with it.  I cook it into small chunks and sauteed it with minced meat, okra and basil leaves.  Yes, it would be great to put in some small cilipadi but unfortunately, I did not find any in my fridge.  Steamed a bowl of rice and that was meal for dinner.... One dish meal....  Pumpkin reminds me of sweet potatoes...sweet after cooking... Another dinner meal consist of Sambal Fish, black pepper met and a hard boiled egg  I only boiled the egg, the other two dishes were "sponsored" by my neighbour... LOL...
