3 Ways to Create Your Own Fashion Trends

Fashion is important. It's more important than you think. If adopted as a lifestyle, it has the power to transform your life.

Yes, fashion can change your life in a positive way.

But ...

What if you're not up-to-date on the latest trends?

What if you can't afford to always buy the latest clothes?

What if you don't have the time to subscribe to fashion blogs and read fashion magazines?

None of this matters. We're not talking about following trends. We're talking about setting them.

How to Make a Fashion Statement On A Shoestring Budget

There are three ways to become your own designer on a shoestring budget:

First, make your own custom jewelry.

Second, learn how to sew your own clothes.

Third, master the art of repurposing your old clothes.

Let's take a look at these three secrets to spiff up your wardrobe:

1. How to make your own custom jewelry.

You can design your own custom jewelry by buying wholesale chains, beads, and pearls.

GemPacked, an online store, can help you source all the right materials you need to come up with your own designs.

If you don't even know how to start, then look up videos online, or even consider taking a class to learn the basics. But you don't have to stop there. Besides making your own accessories, you can start making accessories for other people. Think of the money you could earn by starting a side-hustle for some quick cash with your new skills!

2. Why you should learn how to sew.
When you know how to sew, you have a powerful skill to express your creativity. You'll begin to see clothes in a different way -- as fabric that you can fashion in any shape or design you fancy.
You are now no longer at the mercy of retailers who tell you what you should wear. And you no longer have to figure out what size you should try to squeeze into. Once you know how to sew, you can customize everything you wear.

The best way to learn how to sew is to take a class where you can practice everything you're learning. If you can't find any classes in your city, then take online courses, shop at craft stores, and study pattern making. Either way, you will get good at sewing through experimentation.  In short, you will learn through trial and error.

3. What to do with your old clothes.
When it comes to clothes, you may have more options than you realize. Rather than buying what's in season or what's trending in fashion, you can re-purpose and redesign clothing that you already own. You can, for instance, turn winter wear into summer wear and summer wear into winter wear. Based on what you learned from your sewing class, you can redesign your existing wardrobe. Not only will people think that you're wearing something new but you're also helping the world with its problem regarding sustainability. Reusing, recycling, and DIY culture have become more relevant than ever and Kigurumi.co, a company dedicated to and obsessed with onesies, started a similar trend by turning outgrown clothes like pajamas into unique and fun designs for children.

This little-known fashion genre has no definitive name. You may hear it referred to as "refashioned fashion" or as "fashion purpose."  You may also hear it referred to as "redesign fashion" or as "restructured design." This is actually not a new idea. Before the era of mass clothing production, tailors repurposing old clothes as a matter of course. The reason it appears new is that it's rediscovered.

There are three big reasons why you may want to fall in love with fashion, elegance, and style.
First, fashion is about making a statement. When you dress well, you're speaking a universal language. It's one that's understood by successful and sophisticated people all over the world.

Second, fashion is not about clothes--that's the medium--fashion is about creating a living art form. Art is about making something beautiful. Wearing elegant, well-designed clothes add grace and charm to the world.

Finally, fashion is a powerful way to impress yourself and others. When you dress up well, your self-confidence will soar. This, of course, will also have a huge impact on everyone around you.

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

The Good, The Bad But Not Ugly

MISSING AND NOW BACK IN ACTION...  I checked back my last post and it was 8 March last month and today is 19 April, less than two months only.  So what has been happening in my life?  Lots and lots... good news, bad news, sad news... all concerning health and I guess this is our life cycle as we live day by day.   My health is also not that "fantastic" during the past few months, but mine is a small rock compared to giant boulder which my best buddy is undergoing... I guess some of you know what is happening to her from her blog posts.  I was totally devastated when this happened to her, my tears couldn't help falling and my heart goes out to her.  I am ashamed to say that instead of me giving the comfort that she needs, I am the one that have been receiving her strength in times like this.  She might be crushed physically but she is not broken in her spiritual mind and soul.  One word... "Unbreakable!"  She is a shining example..... "What can death do to m

Exploring The Sea Cruise Royal Caribbean

CRUISING ALONG.... Once we deposited our bags in our cabins, we had our buffet meal at the Hammerjack restaurant and exactly at 4pm, we heard a loud Horn signal...  ITS TIME TO SAIL ALONG THE PACIFIC OCEAN! And while the ship started to sail, we humans started to walk and explore.... to familarize ourselves inside the ship....  Elevators on each side of the ship....  Making my mark....  On another side....  We walked along to check out our food outlets... This Promenade Cafe  had became our regular joint .... We like to sit there enjoying our hot drinks and desserts... Free flow of food day and night.... Passing through the bars to the casino... The casino will open only when the ship is in international waters...  At one of the jackpot machines... I wonder if they are real?? But they are only $1 bundles... Then we went up to the highest floor.... The swimming deck.... Taken against the sun.... Nice sunset in the evening.... The Happy Trio!
