Final Post On Amsterdam Sights

ROUNDUP of our three days two nights trip in Amsterdam... finally... my readers can heave a sigh of relief now!  LOL...

My second trip to Amsterdam ended with walking and more walking.  My friends asked why I did not put on weight, in fact, I lost some weight instead.  Now you know the reason!  Walking in the cold makes a lot of difference, food also counts, my country food adds weight... in a foreign land, I shed my fats.  LOL... That is the reason why I like to travel!
The Van Gogh museum...
This time I could not get near to I Love Amsterdam...
Just too many people...
While the guys went inside the museum, we ladies had our private talk here..
We came here too... Botanical Garden...
Didn't know I have to climb so high... and looked down... oooohhhh...
Thumbs up for overcoming height phobia!
Walked around the garden... and lake...
Captivating butterflies flying above our heads ...
The posers...
Sweet temptations at the Botanical...
A canal boat ride...
Boat houses along the canals...
After the ride...

The second evening, there was a live performance in town...
The crowd was fantastic...
I had to hold on to my friend's arm for fear I get lost in the crowd!
Fireworks and music was in the air!

At a lesser crowd area... I was caught doing this..
And our farewell meal before we departed for the airport the next morning!
Many thanks to our Austrian friends who took us around!!

  1. I always lost weight too when I went overseas in Winter. The non stop walking and cold weather burns up calories fast.

I am planning a trip to Amsterdam soon.

  2. I am very sorry to see your Amsterdam posts come to an end. I have really been enjoying it. They have been like reading a travel magazine. What a stunning butterfly you posted!! And I love seeing the canal and boat houses. And the nighttime decorated street.

  3. I put on weight when I go abroad. I guess I do not sweat so much in the nice cool weather...and I tend to have a great appetite, will eat so much!

  4. Thanks for your amsterdam posts. Nice to read and very tempted to go visit there after reading your posts. Good that you loose weight while travelling so please travel more and share your adventures with us!

  5. Love the garden and the lake, so tranquil

  6. When I travel I put on weight! Beautiful place to visit!

  7. Me will put on weight anywhere I go LOL! Amsterdam is a very nice place to visit. Another one to add to my bucket list.

  8. I remember my final walk over there was under the rain and cold breeze!! But Amsterdam is indeed a beautiful city. I can say it is one of my favourite in Europe.

Our Orders From Afghanistan, Spanish And Australia

My Final post on the Food Festival in the Victoria Market on Wednesday night.... The atmosphere at the market was "enhanced" by the cheerful songs and music by a group band... It was indeed a merry evening filled with music-licous folk songs in the air... . Ok, how to find four seats in this crowd.... hmmmm....... Somehow we managed to... and these were what my boys brought back to our table.... Mexican rice with oysters... or is it Spanish rice?   Both are the same, I guess... LOL.... Afghanistan Food.... chunks of chicken meat with naan.... Brazilian food.... don't ask me what it is.... I just ate what was on the table....  But I am amazed by this giant burger....  ..... and what burger is this? They told me it is Crocodile Tail Burger! Meat from the crocodile tail?  Is it just a name or what... I really don't know... Took a few bites of it... and I am full!! Well, these were the food we

My Failed Project In Baking Mini Egg Cakes

FAILED THIS TIME..... I don't know why, I follow exactly the ingredients and the method written in her website but it was not successful.  Something went wrong somewhere but I don't think I want to try it again.  This recipe is called Mini Egg Cake which is supposed to be soft, airy, light sponge cake but the way I made them, they turned out hard and crusty cake.   If I try again one day, I will half the portion... cos I like to eat these traditional egg cakes.... The Ingredients...  No point putting the recipe here since I failed..  LOL...  The portions of this recipe....  It looked very promising when I put them into the oven.... Even when they were in the baking process... they look good, aren't they? LOL...  I was so happy just by looking at the mini egg cakes in the tray....  And after they were let out... my heart sank....  The minute I took them out from the tray, I knew... Hard at the top...  Tak Jadi = Failed.... Now come to t
