What To Eat in Temoh

BACK TO HOME SWEET HOME...

First night in Ipoh had me turning and tossing in bed, not sure it was due to jet lag or too active to sleep.  Finally got up very early, before 6am... called up my early risers friends to go for Dim Sum.  Since it was still early, I took the opportunity to go to the "normally crowded restaurant" in town called Ming Court, it is always crowded whether it is weekdays, and worse during weekends and this time, we could easily find a table at this time of the day without standing behind any table.

Went home to rest awhile and at noon, I was out again, this time to Temoh, a 40 minutes drive away from Ipoh.  My friends suggested going to a restaurant in Temoh, I had not been there before so I readily agreed to what they have suggested.  The restaurant is on the main road, it is called Nam Hing Loong and it opens at 12 noon.  We ordered a few dishes to try, two bowls of rice to be shared by 4 of us.  Why?  On the way to Temoh, we saw a few durian stalls and that triggered my cravings for this king of the fruits.... so I need to save some of my stomach space for them!  LOL...

We ordered the Pork Knuckle, not German style but Temoh style!
Dipped with their special sauce of Basil leaves... very unique indeed...
It is their secret recipe...
Snakehead fish also known as Ikan Haruan...
Fish soup with salted vegetables...
Paku Pakis aka Wild ferns...
I cannot remember how much exactly this meal cost, maybe around RM80...
The long awaited for... Durians!

Miss this very much!!
Ooppsss....  caught with my mouth full!
