Three States Before Chinese New Year

FROM SG BULOH TO IPOH THEN TO PENANG...

These short trips were made from one Sunday to another Sunday.... We spent four days in Sg. Buloh, traveled back to Ipoh for two nights and then went up north to Penang for one night.  The trip up north was impromptu, since I was not the driver, I just followed the young ones for a night stay.  What I worried was the traffic jam, I was expecting the worst but to our relief and delight, the drive to Penang was very smooth.  Of course, inside the island itself, the traffic was super heavy, this time we played smart, we used Grab car services to ferry us around...
A short walk around the 1-U mall...
Came here for Go Noodles and Bubble tea...
Very nice feel of the CNY decorations..
In the evening, we had our dinner at Hakka Ren Restaurant...
We ordered 5 dishes.. somehow only these three were taken...
Must be due to the reason that we were too hungry by then!
Back in Ipoh, we went to court... badminton court!
Two hours of sweat... sauna for us....
For dinner we had Vietnamese food...
Vietnamese salad...
And the rest of the dishes... I did not manage to take...
yes, super hungry again!
From Ipoh to Penang... 113, Lebuh Melayu...
This place is a Must for us...
Again, no food pictures cos I posted this place a couple of times already...

We took Grab services from hotel... Cost only RM5.. better than driving and walking!
And for coffee lovers, this was taken at Nordin Street,
right in front of Cititel Express Hotel
where we stayed for one night....
We booked a family room for 4 of us, cost around RM270.00.
The next day we checked out around noon and reached Ipoh in less than 3 hours.

  2. You sure get around, don't you? But then again, it is so easy for you all there, such nice highways...not like our inter-town roads, all ruined by the half-dead, not really moving construction of the Pan-Borneo Highway. Used to take one and half hours to get to my girl's school in the jungle, now 2 and half, 5 hours return, 10 hours every week on the torturing roller coaster drive.

Reunion At Museum Restaurant At Starling Mall

CLASSMATES REUNION... but not from my year.  i just tagged along with my sister who wanted my company that evening.  She was going to meet up with some of her classmates at The Starling mall.  I did not want to drive there, taking Grab is a much easier and practical choice, considering it was rush hour in the evening.  Furthermore, I am not familiar with the roads... both of us might panic on the federal highway.  LOL...
Having someone to take us there is so stress free, we only have to pay RM20 for the ride.  :)  Our first time to Startling Mall and being made familiar by one of the bloggers, Phong Hong who used to post up her lunch meals taken from there.  We were supposed to meet up at 7pm but we reached there an hour earlier to "survey" the shops and ended up buying a "bit."  Blame it on my sister who always like to give positive comments most of the time!   The dinner was held at The Museum.... Originated from Ipoh actually and how there is a branch here in …

Caring And Sharing At Limestone, Regal Lodge, Ipoh

IMPROMPTU GATHERING.... Nothing was planned beforehand, it was only at the last minute that we received call to have lunch at Limestone Cafe, inside Regal Lodge.  It was my first time there to have set lunch.  The menu prices were reasonable, around RM15.90 for the main dish, RM3 for a bowl of soup and RM2 for ice cream.  Other than that, coffee, tea and soft drinks are free.
We were there not so much for the food but for the ambiance... we practically had the whole cafe to ourselves during that lunch hour.  Only one or two tables were occupied and we spent more than two hours there since it was a Friday long hour lunch for my working colleagues.  After a few months absence from me, it was wonderful to catch up with my ex-colleagues again!
I was super hungry by lunch time and I felt like eating almost anything in the menu. We ended up ordering one main dish each and then sharing them with one another so that we could taste a bit of this and that.....
I felt like eating Aglio Oli…

Famous Wanton Mee At New Hoong Kee, Bandar Sri Damansara

BREAKFAST FEAST..  Best meal of the day is always my first meal because I know I am able to tuck in as much as my stomach can accept.  I eat a lot in the mornings and then slowly dwindle by the end of the day.  As the saying goes, eat like a king in the morning and like a pauper in the evenings.  This is what I normally do nowadays, not because I wanted to, but it is my own body system that tune me this way.  Though I deny I am old but the body says otherwise... LOL...

On this morning, we went to New Hoong Kee in Bandar Sri Damansara, my sibling said this is currently his favourite place.  And after trying, I know why.... the food we ordered, all turned out good and tasty, even the curry reminded me of my good old days!
Managed to catch the name otherwise I wouldn't be able to tell this story now...  My type of curry... I can go without the chicken... Just the other ingredients will do fine for me.. I like the way they cook this curry... Heard the BBQ pork is tasty too... melt in …
