Valentine Day At Sushi Tei And STG

THIS YEAR VALENTINE IN IPOH...

I remember for the past few years Valentine's day was spent in Johor... I normally follow my kids back to Johor after their one week leave in Ipoh.  This year I did it differently, I stayed back while my kids left on Saturday after spending one week in Ipoh.  This year Valentine Day was on a Thursday and for the first time, I celebrated the evening with my friends.  We did not do any planning or reservation to any cafe or fine dining.  I am sure most of the cafes are fully booked.... instead we walked in to a Japanese restaurant at Ipoh Parade.  We went there earlier so that we could get a table for the four of us.  Oh, the place is called Sushi Tei, nothing to shout about actually but since it was our first time there, we ordered lavishly to fill our hungry tummies!
Salad with salmon skin to start off the dinner....
Mini crabs... wrong choice...
nothing much to eat except to test the strength of our teeth!  LOL..
Dumplings are not bad... could order another plate of this...
Salmon sushi...

Ramen without the pork... I think it is halal here...
Sweet potato... this is kind of special...
Good choice....
Tempura vegetables...
Garlic fried rice... not too bad...
tasted something like we cook at home....
And we drowned ourselves with endless hot green tea....
The bill came to around RM120...
And since the night was still young, we went for desserts at STG old town...
With a hot piping cup of coffee before we called it a night...
Oh yes, a small gift for Valentine's Day....
So what's in the box?
Will be revealed soon when the time is right!
LOL...

  4. Oh? A secret admirer? Ehem! Ehem! I think Sushi Tei is one of those franchises, we have one here - Sushi Tie...named after the late owner surnamed Tie. Doing very well after all these years.

  5. Recently I also had bad experience to buy mini crabs from local seller. It poked my whole mouth and throat. Nothing can beat the original mini crabs from Japan.

  6. Quick, quick show us what is inside the box. Don't keep us in suspense for too long.

Chinese New Year Reunion Dinner At San Jose 2022

TABLE FOR FOUR... We had our own reunion Chinese New Year dinner on Monday evening.... we made a simple one, just hot pot at home.  All we have to do is to clean the vegetables, get everything defrosted... and the hot pot boiling with a packet of seasoning.  They sell a lot of hot pot seasoning over here, from tomato soup to shrimp and chicken soup, I just threw in the whole packet of paste.  No doubt not so healthy but it is so easily done....  As usual, Chinese New Year won't be CNY without a plate of Loe Sang...  No crackers so I put in a few pieces of Tacos... LOL... Most important is the sauce....  The apricot, plum sauce and honey makes it right.... And our dishes for the evening..... We ate too much shrimps the day before so we omitted for this evening.... Simple and yet satisfying meal for our Reunion Dinner....

Three Hours City Tour At Ensenada, Mexico

A THREE HOURS CITY TOUR when we embarked in Mexico on the second morning.   My sister booked the three hours city tour in Ensenada, Mexico, a van came to pick us up from the port.  Ensenada is the border of Mexico and it reminds me of Hatyai, a border town too between Malaysia and Thailand.  We were taken to a shopping area where we must haggle for the goods.  LOL.. Yes, something common in my own country... Anyway, we did not buy anything for ourselves... just a wooden handmade truck for my grandson which cost $8usd.   Nothing much to shout about on this three hours excursion, I was so sleepy on the way back to the ship that I dozed off and only awaken when we were driven through the town.  All in all, I just wanted to step onto Mexican soil and I would give this a miss if I were to go on this Mexico cruise again.  LOL... At the open area shopping walking towards the Blowhole... This is La Bufadora Blowhole, an amazing natural marine geyser that is capable of shooting water over 60 fe

Now I understand the word of Full Commitment when it comes to taking care of baby... seriously, I have to be fully commited and occupied by this little cheeky fella who is now going to be his 10th month soon.  Wow... time flies, when I first came, he was just slightly over four months... that being said, it is soon time fo rme to pack my bags and leave.  LOL... My 6 months being a babysitter is soon over... and did I say I can hardly wait?  NO, NO... I love my job here and I am going to miss my baby tremendously!  I only don't miss his cries!  LOL...  OK, by the time I write this post, Chinese New Year is over, it is now the 4th day of CNY.  Two days before the Lunar New Year, my daughter-in-law and I cooperated fully and baked a few types of cookies.  Looking back at these pictures, I dare say that we did a good job... not on the cookies but at least we had a great time bond
