5 Family Vacation Destinations That Both Adults And Kids Will Love

If you’re planning a vacation for the entire family, it can be hard to find a place to visit that both adults and children will enjoy. Family vacations are all about compromise, but you don’t want to go all-out in finding a destination your kids are going to love if you and your partner are going to be bored senseless. On the other hand, it’s no good choosing somewhere that adults will enjoy if there’s nothing to keep the kids occupied. Here are five family vacation spots which are sure to please every member of your party from the oldest to youngest.

San Diego
Head to south California for a sunny family vacation spot that both kids and adults are going to love. The beaches here are great for adult relaxation while the kids dig in the sand, but there are lots of other attractions which are family friendly. Head to the famous zoo or Legoland to keep the kids entertained for a full day, or head to Sunset Cliffs Natural Park for a day out closer to nature. There are lots of family friendly resorts to stay in here including luxury hotels which have kids clubs to keep your little ones entertained while also having spas and adult entertainment for you and your partner.

Yellowstone National Park
Do you want to get back to nature with your little ones and enjoy the very best that the country has to offer? Yellowstone National Park is the perfect opportunity to enjoy some quality family time in the great outdoors. Exploring Yellowstone on foot is a wonderful way to discover the beauty of the park, but the kids are sure to love a llama trek as an alternative, or if your children are more adventurous, why not try rafting on the Yellowstone River. There is a Junior Ranger Program for kids aged 5 to 12 and there’s even the opportunity to enjoy a cowboy cookout with a ride in on horseback or in  wagon.

Kauai
Do you want to enjoy a vacation in the sun? Then head to Kauai, Hawaii. This may be a small island but it’s perfect for families. There are beautiful lifeguarded beaches that are safe for little ones to enjoy, fabulous jungle ziplines, sailboats to charter on the Napali coastline where you can spot dolphins in the wild, and the Waimea Canyon which is truly impressive. Kauai is also a great place to introduce your kids to the joys of snorkelling. You can click here for more details about which equipment you’re going to need to get started with this fun water hobby. Of course there’s also the opportunity to enjoy a traditional luau with a whole evening of entertainment and delicious food.

Crested Butte
If you’re traveling in the winter with the kids, you’ll love family friendly skiing at Crested Butte but even if you’re traveling outside of the skiing season there is still a lot to do here when the snow has melted. Hiking with the family is a dream here but if you’re not feeling energetic take a Jeep ride or go rafting. There’s even a Summer Adventure Park here with lots of family friendly activities like prospecting, rock climbing and bungee trampolining – fun for old and young alike!

Washington DC
Would you prefer to go for a city break with the kids in tow? Head to Washington DC for a really exciting vacation that has something for everyone. Fairly low key compared to cities like the Big Apple, Washington is quite walkable and simple to navigate. Even better, most attractions come free of charge so you can save a fortune! Head to the National Mall where you can visit all kinds of exciting museums. See spaceships at the National Air and Space Museum, see dinosaurs at the National Museum of Natural History and find out more about our own history and heritage at the National Museum of American History. There are plenty of great hotels here with family friendly rooms and excellent facilities for everyone to enjoy.

Head to any of these five amazing spots for your next family vacation and have the time of your lives!
